So I am setting up my new system with a 3080FTW3 Ultra and an EVGA G5 850W Gold PSU.  The PSU has two individual 8 pin (6+2) cables and two daisy chained 8 pin (2x 6+2) cables.  Obviously the card needs 3 connections.

Is it ok to use one of the individual 8 pin cables and one of the daisy chained cables to make 3 connections for a cleaner look?  Would there be too much power draw on the one daisy cable or nah?

It's always best to use a separate cable for each connection and to daisy chain should always be used only as a last resort.

I thought using  2 seperate cables with 1 daisy chained was fine for the FTW3 Ultra 3080?  I have 2 with 1 daisy chained and seems ok.

OP has 4 cables, two are single 6+2, and two double 6+2. Best practice is to use 1 cable per PCIE power plug for the 30 series. So in the OPs case, the two single 6+2 cables, and one of the dual 6+2 cables with the extra 6+2 hanging to the side & unused.

Yes 2 on a daisy chain + 1 is fine.

Thank you for the responses.  I'd like the cleaner look of just two cables so will start with the daisy chain + 1.

What's the max wattage a 3080 FTW3 ultra can draw using one daisy chained connection?

I don't plan on overclocking whenever my step-up queue arrives

No, you are incorrect and giving bad advice Jacob.

Unless each port needs more than 210+ watts, it's usable option. If you can, I would go for 3 separate ones if possible but that does not mean 1  + 2 (daisy chain) won't work unless that daisy chained ports suck up 425+ - maybe kingpin with extreme cooling? not sure.

IMO, the point is it will still work with at least with 3090 according to its latest power draw limit on the XOC bios.

Should you use daisy chain while you can avoid it? I would not.
But if you have to live with it, yes it will work fine.
