I had intermittent reboots and replaced the PSU and cables. Was concerned it was the 3080 but someone on another forum thought that I should check the ram. No issues at jedec 2133. Turns out the FTW3 exhausts directly onto the ram and it hitting 57 degrees. I measured the exhaust temp and it was 46-47 degrees. At jedec 2133 ram was stable but at xmp 3200 it was unstable over 55 degrees.

Solution was to get a ram cooler. Others have used a fan directly on the ram which also works. Now my 3080 FTW3 is stable at +120 core +500 memory and ram is at 46 degrees.

My 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming seems to overheat while I'm VR gaming, and go into an unresponsive black screen on both monitor and VR headset. It never happens with monitor only.

driver issue .. maybe
Max GPU fan speed ? custom curve or stock fan curve ?
are your case fans running fast enough ?  is the room warm to begin with ?  can you add more fans to the case?

I wasn't getting this on my original 3080. But, I got a replacement this week thanks to the New World issues.  Now the replacement is doing this.  It seems to start up fine from the sounds of things, but no picture on either of my two monitors or my TV.  I was able to get it to come back a couple of times by turning off the power supply and draining it, then letting it sit for a minute, but now nothing I am doing works.  Good stuff.

Got my 3080Ti FW3 Ultra last night and played my favorite driving sim for 2 hours in VR with my HP Reverb G1. Within seconds of *exiting the game*, (less than 10 I think) I get black screen. All 3 of my monitors went black while I was at my desktop moving my GPUZ window to my main screen. Within a few seconds of that, I get my windows login screen. (Not enough time for a reboot). I log back in and find my carefully curated triple screen wallpapers all out of whack. I decide to try the sim again before doing anything else and VR is messed up. (Everything is HUGE and the menu appears to be touching my nose....re-centering my headset just puts my nose more precisely in the center of the menu)

I rebooted and everything appeared to be back to normal, played for another hour and everything worked fine. Still, I just upgraded from a 3080FE that never had anything like this happen.

I was running stock with the exception of the overclock BIOS for the more aggressive fan curve. And because I know power supplies get blamed for a lot of stuff: My PSU is a Corsair RM1000i and this happened while at my desktop with almost no load.
