Hi Jacob,

The FTW3 guys get a higher power limit and us XC3 guys aren’t loved?

Please give us a higher power limit. Please Jacob please

It might be the power the FTW3 gets with three connectors over the XC3 having two. Hopefully that is not the case and a bios is released though.

I heard some people are using the FTW3 bios update on their xc3 cards and are getting the extra power. So it’s there

I don’t want to void my warranty. So want something official

we tested the 450W FTW bios in the XC3, and it takes the power consumption that is taking from the first 8pin connector as it was the same on that virtual 3rd 8pin connector, so you end having a real lower power limit.

We measured it with an AX1200i, and we have a higher power limit with the default XC3 Bios which is around 340W

Can we please get at least a 375 or 400 W VBIOS for this card? It would be great for those who intend watercooling it

400W? I'm pretty sure the maximum amount of power a 2x8 pin card can draw is 375W (150W per cable, plus 75W through the PCIe lane). What would be the point in anything over 375W?

You dont have to search a lot to find people running 2080ti with huge OCs with only 2 8 pin cables and 420ish W total...

I think the limit on 2080tis were 15 Amps per 8pin cable, that is 180W per 8 pin so 360W plus the PCI lane 75 W

They can only do so much with a 2x 8 Pins...

Even the 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra only had 2 and maxxed out at 375W.

But that had the cooling for it.

You can search
"RTX 3080 650watts vs 3090 450watts BENCHMARKED" in youtube, a guy that shunted his 3080 xc3 and it is pulling 650W from the wall...

Right, but those people are doing shunt mods, in which case 375W vs. 400W VBIOS wouldn't matter, correct? My point was I don't see why they'd offer more than 375W if that exceeds the maximum of the spec for power through the PCIe slot and PCIe cables from the GPU. I don't think shunt modders are part of that conversation.

Do not believe the Frame Chasers video, it is NOT CORRECT regarding the FTW3 450w bios on a stock XC3.

There will be no bios update for the XC3 that increases power, due to the limits of the 2x8-pin power.  The only options are a shunt mod or an unlocked true XOC bios.
