Count yourself lucky. Mine won't draw over 390w on the 450w bios. It's ****ed

U need to get ur card colder or a waterblock. Otherwise u won't draw as much. I'm sitting at 36 to 44 max temps..... With my loop and block. 2130 to 2160 in games.... Port royal 2190 is max stable.... Timespy 2175 if I keep it under 33c.... Before I had under water max game clocks were 2085 to 2055 if I was lucky....under 60c

Umm, nope. My card is cold AF. 8-10 Celsius actually, 30-35 under full load and its not pulling more on Timespy than 398W with 1,1V and clocks set to 160 on the GPU and 1250 on the VRAM.

BIOS is installed, tried both switch positions, rebooted etc. nothing works for me. What is wrong with this card ? What load do i have to put on it ? I think the BIOS is not giving me **** as the 398W are no matter if i push the Voltage to 1.1V or leave it at standard 1.063 or with the VRAM at 0 OC.

Anyone have an idea what i could do ? Is it the Card ? Is it the BIOS ?

EDIT: Forget what i said. I downloaded the BIOS again, reflashed, shut down the PC, flipped the switch twice and now its working. I don't know where i messed up...argh.

hmm just tried this twice and didnt fix for me. still hitting 380-390w and saying power limit :(

Hey. Since you say it's working are you now drawing full power limit?

I have flashed the bios twice and shut down to flip the of switch off. Booted up in non of. Shut down and flipped back to OC switch but still the same

Did you do anything different? What else should I try?

Hey, yes it seems to be working as intended, drawing447-449W from the Wall. I re-downloaded the file, unpacked it, ran it as administrator.

I am unsure if i was in the Standard BIOS Switch position when i flashed the new OC BIOS to the OC Position or in which position it was. Maybe check that as well. Flash it to the one that is active or to the one that is inactive is the only thing that comes to my mind that you could try further.

You're Watercooling as well ? I used Water with 8-10 degrees Celsius and TimeSpy as Benchmark. I am not sure if you can even pull that much if you're air cooling as with high heat load it might pull back on the Voltage ?

Hmmm I didnt run it as administrator but I made sure to extract it. Made sure nothing was running in background both times. Yeh I checked the switch is on the OC bios with it flicked closest to io ports .

Yeh under waterblock as well. GPU temps in the 40s. Still won't draw over 390w :(

Not sure what else I can do.

The bios has definitely applied because gpuz says my power limit is 450w...

Ah ok, my Card didn't apply the BIOS at first even though it said so, i couldn't set the Powerlimit in X1 to 118%. Can you set it to 118% ? Then it should be good to go.

Also you might check your cabling if you are using piggybacked cables or do you have three dedicated power cables ?

Yeh can set to 118% power limit. Yeh all separate pcie cables to 1000w psu

Been talking to some guys with 3090 ftw3.... seems you can flash xc3 3090 bios on the 3090 ftw3....and it actually gives more power 370+150..... And they are scoring 5% higher performance because of it.... Does anyone have any thoughts on doing the xc3 bios on a 3080 ftw3??? I'm so willing to try it....

So I have a 3080 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid coming tomorrow and am looking for advice on what to do with this BIOS business.  I'll be using my own fan curve so I'll probably just be downloading the "Normal" XOC BIOS and flashing the OC position on the card. (keeping the normal position as my fail safe stock/default option)

I imagine I should install the card and let PX1 update the firmware. Then do some stock benchmarking (portal royal and time spy) for baseline data so I can see what kind of gains I'm actually getting.

Then what would some of you recommend? Flash the Normal "EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 HYBRID" BIOS from OP? Or just the Normal "EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA" BIOS?  Or nothing and maybe just wait for the next BIOS revision? (maybe even the one that will include BAR support or higher power limit) Thanks in advance I appreciate any insight, I've thought about this and read soooooo many pages and still am not sure what is the "best". <3

EDIT: IT CAME AND SO DID I.  I ended up flashing the XOC Hybrid BIOS to the OC position.  I think it's running as expected and I am the happy. :D

It's not. You can see he's capped at 430w and 3rd pcie pin is not drawing much, same issue as the 3090s that has been posted before many times. Evga needs to address this already, they said update in "a few weeks" back in February.
