But like when I get this card you know.

Was looking at products to boost power to pci-e slot. Found this https://www.evga.com/articles/00600/

Evga Power Booster uses a molex to pci-e. Not sure if it would help if you have many pci-e devices plugged in.
I think this may help with the red light error since the mcu check needs 12v and deviating lower will cause a no post.

Don't think they're still available.. And you shouldn't have to purchase additional hardware to stop a suspected design fault from causing system issues.
I'm kinda lucky that my Apex has an inbuilt molex connector for the PCI-E..

I put in a support ticket seeing if they're at least aware of why some cards refuse to get anywhere near the 450w limit.
Hopefully it's something they can fix with a firmware update..
Worst case I'll pull the waterblock off it and send it back..

Still salty they FTW cards are so cut back this generation.. The component selection makes them feel more like a binned XC3.. Just seems they went with the absolute bare minimum (VRM asside)
I would have paid more if they had a premium product.. The FTW3 was supposed to be that, and there is no 3080 KP..

Afterburner..
Tried X1 but the overlay doesn't work half the time and setting a voltage frequency curve is clunkier than it should be.
Overlay is the main reason though, and I love RTSS frame limiter, gives dead consistent frametimes if setup right.

True. Tried switching to X1 for the third time now and every time I'm missing something from AB. AB simply rules in every segment.
I've been using it for years and years, so no wonder.
What bothers me though is missing control of all three fans on my FTW3 Ultra. And there is no separate app for RGB control, so I need to have X1 installed no matter.
Also there is the placebo effect that the overclocks are more stable with X1. But that's just me. XD

Liquid metal on die and alphacool waterblock I'm stable in port royal 2190mhz and +1125 on memory... Maxing out at 36°c.... Games max stable clocks are 2145 to 2160.... Highest temp on this card after 2 hrs in game is about 41°c.... I need more power.... My best score in port royal 13061

So,

I went down the rabbit hole regarding the RLOD issue.

While I am fortunate to have a 3080 FTW3, I did spend $850 and three freezing trips to MC to get it. I do not want it bricking.

I updated the bios when I installed Precision. As it is, my fans dont start spinning until 65C despite a custom fan curve when Precision is running. It likes to close without my knowing sometimes, In which case my fans don't start spinning until 90C.

Other info, seems my 3x8 pins all draw pretty evenly, and have only seen 45w max from pcie thus far.

So, should I flash back to the original bios? How can I tell which bios I have? GPUZ shows a different nunbering scheme. Also, tips for not bricking this thing would help. Thank you!

There is a way to shunt pcie and run a wire to bypass the fuse. It seems this is the only way to get rid of the issue. I am considering power modding to get more power

Small question, do I understand this correctly that I can flash XOC beta on my OC bios switch, and still keep the stock on the normal one? So basically I can have both stock and XOC swappable by a switch right? Is there any significant problems associated because of having tried the XOC?

Yes that's totally fine. Basically u only need one bios. It's good if u want to flash another but evga didn't even give us a true xoc bios. It's 450w.... The 3090 guys can at least flash kingpin and get 1000w..... 450 max stable is 2190. I've hit 2120 and 2205 but for some reason it won't use the whole 450 watts. As soon as pcie is at 75watts it limits the whole card. Evga really limited their cards

I really wouldn't mind another 150w.... This bios kinda sucks

Are you referring to when you launched Precision x, it asked you to update? If yes, you didn't update the BIOS, that's just a MCU controller firmware update (rgb, fans etc). For a bios update, you must do it manually launching the many files they have posted in this forums...
