I have a 3080 FTW3 Ultra/3900x/750w Seasonic Platinum

Is it safe to update to 450w Bios and max out power limit and core voltage with a 750w power supply? Or should I upgrade my PSU??

Thanks

Hi,
With max power consumption my system used no more then 620-650w (R9 5900X+FTW3 3080 ultra)

Thanks,

Hello,
i made the update on my EVGA10GB D6X RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA  with OC Mode on ( BIOS Version v3897 ) and now the graphiccard say nothing.... oO what can i do ?

I made it with these Instructions
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your graphics card below.
  • Extract the files to a location on disk.
  • Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click Update.exe
  • Press "Y" to begin the update.
  • After update, restart PC.
  • NOTE: There are 2 BIOS's, one is for the BIOS when switched to the normal stock position, the other if switched to the OC position
    Pls Help me!

You'll be absolutely fine, it'll probably draw 600-650 watt total running a torture test on cpu & gpu. Your PSU would likely handle 900w anyway.

The minimum spec is always based on worst case scenarios. There are likely 750w power supplies that would fail with a real 650w power draw, but not a seasonic platinum.

I had the 450w bios on a 9700KF @5.1ghz w/ at corsair rm750i and I was just fine. Since then I got a 5800x and use even less power.

    "Dear Customer,

Thank you for reaching out EVGA support team.
Please use the Precision X1 to manual adjust the power to the maximun on TARGET, followed by screenshot the Percision, and send to us.
Regarding to your description, the 500W BIOS on the forum is the maximun Watts. However, according to EVGA forum, "EVGA does not guarantee any performance increase or overclock while using this BIOS update." The performance is already reached to our promised performance, it is related to the quality of the card itself if it could reach to the maximun 500W.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,
    EVGA"

EVGA pretty much just told me the quality of their cards are ****. Max 430w on the 500w Bios on Port Royal.
So much for this amazing EVGA customer service i heard about can't wait to have this crap out of my PC.

    Imagine complaining that a 3080 doesn't pull 500W using a BIOS with a max power of 450W
