Actually what I wrote was false because i opened Furmark in the Normal Bios switch and the power still reaches 450W even though I only installed the OC Bios. How interesting indeed !

This is the same benchmark did with the OC Bios. Seems that only fan curve changes.

The .88 the the OC and the .87 is the Normal for the XOC Beta Bioses, but I'm not sure if the .70 or .9C is the stock normal BIOS, which is the only one I want to flash back to.

Since I can't find anywhere on this thread a direct download for the stock bioses, this appears to be the only place I can find them

I figured it would be easy to test by seeing if the fans are spinning when I updated.  It's the .70 bios for normal, .9C for  OC if anyone else wants to flash back to stock.

I really hope someone here rom EVGA can tell us what is the original bios is

Normal bios https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/225304/evga-rtx3080-10240-200904

Thank you now how do I FLASH IT LOL.. Is in ROM FORMAT??

Follo the instructions page 1 at overclock.net 3080 club.

Thank you I was able to get back to default for "NORMAL" switch mode 400 WATT, the "OC" switch mode for 450 WATT.

I have questions  :

1) Are both the FTW3 model and the FTW3 ULTRA model are exactly the same ? The only difference is factory overclock out of box ? If you do manual OC, then they are exactly the same cards. Is this statement true ?

2) My EVGA 3080 FTW3 being in a closed case and only air cooling, would it be smarter to not have the 450W power limit so that temps don't go too high ? Is 450W expected only for Water Cooling and massive cases with lots of fans ?

3) I have flashed only the OC BIOS for 3080 FTW3. Does that mean that if I slide the switch from OC to Normal on the card itself, the original Normal bios will kick in with original power limit ?

Thank you for answering my questions.

Yes Jacob has a said they are the same just different factory OC. He tweeted it.

I ran the heaven benchmark doing nothing more than flashing the 450w bios and cranking the power target and it held pegged at 2115 through about 30min of looping (default fan curve which held at 74-75c). Just installed it about half an hour ago but it looks like a promising chip.

I haven't tried the 450w bios yet but I'm already very happy with the scores I'm getting with just the OC bios

You need to restart twice after you’ve switched the bios, or switch the bios, shut down and unplug, plug back in and boot again. I was very confused as to why fan stop wasn’t working again when I changed, and figured out you need to do the above steps for the right bios to be loaded.

Really ? Good lord. Well I'm trying tomorrow for sure.

Also this makes me think that there is no manual for the rtx 3080. No owner'smanual in the box and no pdf manual online. :(

3DMark Timespy score:
17,430 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080(1x) and Intel Core i7-10700K Processor (5.1ghz on air)
Graphics Score 18,954
CPU Score 11,975

Running the OC bios settings: +130 core (~2.1ghz actual) +498 ram

During the benchmark the whole system never pulled more than 650w out the wall, at least while running sustainable OC's. With wilder 5.2ghz OC on the CPU it did go up to 670w or so.

So it turns out my 3yo Seasonic 750w Prime Platinum is plenty for real world gaming loads using this setup, even while pushing pretty good OC clocks.
