That happens when you’re flashing the wrong bios. Make sure you’re flashing FTW ultra to a ultra card and FTW regular to a regular card.

Wait, and what 500w bios? This is the bios thread for the 450w for the 3080 bro. 500w is for 3090’s Are you sure you’re in the right place?

I set my overclocks and completely X out of PX1
Otherwise performance tanks
You can close it out and your fan speed and overclocks will remain

Might be the wrong place...the 450w update worked like a charm...
...but the 500w update still mentions it's for the 3080 and 3090 FTW cards...
and i have the 3080 FTW3 Ultra...

I'll go looking for the other thread...

Where have you read the 3080 update is 500w?? It’s 450w. The 500w is for the 3090 bro. I think you’re trying to flash the wrong bios to your card, make sure man.

Each card has its own thread and bioses. You got that message because you were trying g to flash the wrong bios to whatever card you have.

Precision X1 is a resource vampire, don't leave it open in the background.

Having it minimized to the system tray seems to be OK.

Weird, didn't experience this in my 2080ti.

just finished my port royal benchmarks,
here it is with updated bios (12708)

core+177 memory+1211
core result is similar (i have done +182 before ) but can push memory much higher (was +998 before although memory didnt affect score that much +12)
but core is much stable @ higher clocks than before, improving the score

I gave up on trying to overclock my 3080 ftw ultra. Did the bios update on OC switch. I can run my bench marks at 115+ clock (120 crashes on time spy all the time), and I’ve gotten my memory up to the 800-900 range. However, when I try running Witcher 3 on OC settings, game constantly crashes. Tried under clocking my clock and memory but kept crashing. Spend hours upon hours. I have a very aggressive fan curve setup to (fans 100 percent at 70 degrees). I flipped switch back to normal and Witcher runs fine.

I’m thinking it’s an overheating issue on GPU and so that is why game crashes. It just crashes to desktop , so I can easily just do stuff again on my PC. One time it froze computer and I had to hard reset.

Specs:

I9 9900k overclocked to 5GHz (overclocked using switch on motherboard).
Corsair vengeance pro 64 GB DDR 4 3200 (set to XMP in bios...auto overclock?)
msi godlike met z390 motherboard
EVGA 850 T2
Corsair 570x case
Nmve 970 , 960 nmve
EVGA nu audio card
Alienware 3420 ultra wide
Logitech g502 hero
Razer hunts man elite
3 Corsair LL fans in front full speed.
Corsair h100i RGB platinum 240 cooler installed up top shooting air out (exhaust), and one ll 120 exhaust in back at full speed.

I even have tried the scan auto overclock with mixed results. First time I tried it it said do a 90 clock and only 200 memory. Second time it said do 124 clock and 0 memory, third time it said 120 clock and 0 memory. Seems to be bugged.
