Will a version of this BIOS be made available for my LHR 3080 FTW3 Ultra? I'm feeling a little left out here...

Jacob at EVGA just pointed me to where the new biosis were for the LHR cards and I was able to update mine. But yeah the most I’ve seen it draw is 414 watts so far.

Care to share a link? I can't seem to find it.

Update 4/2 - Updated to the Resizable Bar Versions

Due to many users request, have a new BIOS that increases the maximum Power Target. This BIOS is only intended for the extreme overclocking user and does not have any other changes. Please note the following:
  •  This update will increase the power consumption while overclocking, and is recommended you have adequate cooling and power (850w+ Gold minimum) when using this.
  • EVGA does not guarantee any performance increase or overclock while using this BIOS update.

Any other questions or concerns will be answered in this forum thread only. Please post below your results and feedback!

BIOS Instructions (Windows Installation):
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your graphics card below.
  • Extract the files to a location on disk.
  • Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click Update.exe
  • Press "Y" to begin the update.
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS!
  • After update, restart PC.

Apparently, I can't update my GPU BIOS to this because this is written for Non-LHR? And mine is LHR?

Hello. I updated my EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming card's bios to the OC one. Now, I see in Precision X1 that the power limit can be increased up to 118%.
If I leave all the settings to stock settings (i.e. 100% power limit, 85° GPU Temp, Clocks to "0"), am I right to assume the BIOS doesn't change anything except for the fans to run above 1000 RPM all the time ?
In other words, if I do not do any change in an overclocking software such as precision X1 or Afterburner, doing this OC Bios won't increase power draw, voltage or anything else (just the fans RPM).

If so, is it ok to uninstall Precision X1? And maybe use Afterburner (just for the OSD and FPS frame limiter ; no OC intended).

EDIT : Also, was I supposed to hit any button on my graphic card ? I read that there might be a button near PCI-E ports. The only thing I did was double clicking the file and press Y.
EDIT 2 : Do I need to be running Precision X1 to have the benefits of Re-size BAR, or do I always have them, whether I have Precision X1 or not ?

What is your part number ?
Mine is : 10G-P5-3897-KR

If yours end with KL, that means your GPU is a LHR version -> I don't think the OC Bios is available for your card for now.

Hi,

can you please explain the difference between 'normal' and 'Default' VBIOS. Is 'Default' the 380 wattage version?
I have now the 'Default' BIOS:  94.02.42.80.1. Which is this exactly?

I would like the BIOS version with as little wattage as possible.

Would be nice adding the BIOS version numbers.

I'm no specialist but this is what I figured out :
There is a physical BIOS switch on our cards, basically it's just a memory slot.
I ended up putting back the stock BIOS (94.02.42.80.16) in the stock switch position and put the physical switch to the OC BIOS. It's already up to date (94.02.42.80.31) so we don't even have to follow the steps of the guide.

I think the OC BIOS just changes the default fan profile so the fans spin at ~1090 RPM minimum instead of 0 RPM minimum. This is nice because Precision X1 stops following custom curve at some point.
Now I can enjoy this GPU without worrying about fans doing weird stuff because of a software.

Also, the OC BIOS allows you to change the GPU maximum power to 118%.
Now, I'm not sure about the following but if you want to use less wattage, you can already do it without the OC BIOS : reduce GPU power limit or decrease voltage and stuff in PX1 or Afterburner...

EDIT : I'm not even overclocking my GPU as I'm ok with the temps and fan noise. Running the GPU at100% for about 10 minutes gives me a max power usage of 325W according to CPUID HWMonitor.
