Hi guys, so I flashed the XOC bios on my ultra gaming 3080 ftw3, and when Precision X1 turned on it said I needed a firmware update. What firmware is it? Is that something different to bios?
Should I use Precision X1 or afterburner better? How do I control the LEDS? :) Sorry for all the noob questions

I use Precision and you should be able to control the LEDs from it too. not sure what firmware it is.

Firmware and bios are separate from one another.

Let it do the firmware update, the LED's on the card will turn red and it will blow the fans full speed for a moment while it updates. Won't affect your BIOS flash you already did. The LED's are controlled from one of the tabs on Precision, looks like a light bulb. Pretty straightforward to use, it shows you a picture of the different sections of the video card, you click a section, then change the pattern/colors for it to your liking, rinse and repeat with the rest of the sections :)

Hi, I have the 3080 FTW3 Ultra, but the new low hashrate variant ending in KL, as opposed to KR.
 
When attempting to update to 450W bios, I'm getting "no display adapters were found that are compatible with this update."
Please add new ones, and please do this for the Hybrid as well... ordered a hybrid kit, but without flashing to hybrid bios it causes errors for people. Clearly I'm not going to be able to use the current Hybrid XOC bios because of my KL card.
 
Edit: In PX1, my vbios version is 94.02.71.40.A9. Everything except the A9 corresponds to 3080 TI's, and 3080 TI's *only* across all manufacturers. Did EVGA ship out weakened 3080 TI's and brand them with the 3080 logos, hindered only by a vbios verison? Would explain why I can't flash any standard 3080 bios onto this thing.

I too have the KL version and would like the XOC bios made available for it.

EVGA is silent on the issue in this thread and on twitter. Are we just going to need to refund our cards and hope we can buy a hybrid without another 10 month wait?

I got a response from Jacob on twitter 2 days ago. I was asking for a status update on the 450w XOC bios for KL models and he was asking which card I had and I responded with the 3080 FTW3 Ultra but nothing since then so maybe soon.

I'd imagine they have to be careful which BIOS gets released per Nvidia, and possibly Nvidia reviews them before they can give them the go ahead. That way they don't have some fiasco where the non-LHR BIOS is being applied to the LHR cards like the 3060 had. Just a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if that were the case.
