I am having an issue here. I am trying to flash the correct BIOS, but when I press y, the screen turns off, and never turns back on. I have to hard reset the computer minutes later. When I reset, the graphics drivers are completely uninstalled and the screen is at 30 hz. I have to reinstall the graphics drivers to get things back to normal.

I am using the correct version and I am on the OC switch for the fan curve

What should I do to troubleshoot? I check GPUz and my max power is still 400
Thanks!

best I can get is 426, peak 432, 416 on run 2 and 408 by run 3, FTW3 Hybrid. what ever the chip will do , it will do. 400 is the max mine will pull on a stable overclock , The chip will balance and throttle itself

I see on the XOC BIOS 3090 thread there is an offer from Evga to replace the Cards with the Power Balancing issue with a new Card.
XOC 450w Bios Card can only draw 395w ...appears to be gimped PCI-E #3 power plug. I know there are many others with the same.

I went all thru this Thread and dont see the same offer......can anyone ...a Mod perhaps (Sajin you're always up to sped) or Jacob please let me know if this same offer is in place for the 3080FTW3 Ultras that also have this exact same Power Balancing issue as the 3090's ......
Really curious if this is being recognized like the 3090's ?

I told Jacob long time ago we 3080 FTWs owners are suffering from the same power balancing issue and he responded like "not that we know off...." so good luck my dude. You can go ahead and continue the crusade, I gave up long ago trying to convince them... And I even twitted him GPUz, afterburner etc screenshots showing the 3rd pin pulling almost no power and the card hitting the power limiter at 430w and never or barely ever reaching 450w... I hope they listen to you, I gave up, but hey if they say something, let us know.

I think yall fail to realize the XOC bios's are for xtreme cooling. You're not gonna get any extra performance from a normal cooling solution and power.

Yeah that's true to a certain extent. When I got my 3080 FTW3 Hybrid back in Dec, I basically put the PC outside in sub 0C and was able to clock 2265mhz passing Timespy, locked at 1.1 volts. Power use was tapping the 450w limit but generally staying under it.

I guess this qualifies me a not average user, since this still puts me at #31 on the leaderboard for 3080 TS GPU score.

What kinda OCs have people achieved with this

None different from stock Bios. People think if they install the XoC bios they will get a better overclock. You won't. they are made for eXtreme overclockers that use super cooling and power. Your average user will see no difference.

With the hybrid and a good fan setup the card can comfortably use 400w+ at mid 50C's and maintain clocks around 2,100 mhz gaming with a fairly heavy load, so there is a benefit and I'm happy to have it.  I'd definitely be riding the power limit with the 400w limit and maybe dropping clock vs. 450w, but it doesn't make the chip any more stable at OC.  If you lock in at 1.1V with ambient temps sure you can get stable at a couple 15mhz bins higher and use the higher power more, but that's not a good idea for chip health.

On my 3080 ftw3 ultra gaming hybrid I had been running +1000 mem (10502mhz in X1, 1312.7mhz in GPUZ), -200 gpu, 70 power when mining for a while with the 450 bios, then would switch back to 0 gpu, 118 power when gaming (leaving mem +1000).

I noticed some FPS issues when gaming and seems to be whenever memory is above +700 my FPS tanks.  Doing furmark 1440p benches at +700/800/900/1000 in X1 fps and memory controller load get worse with each run and it seems around 800-850 perfcap changes from power to vrel so maybe just hitting limitations of the memory.  Assume this would be the same with the default bios as well but thought it was interesting.

It's because ECC is kicking in. Gddr6x counter to previous gen's has ECC which instead of giving you normal artefacts is just trying to correct errors due to too high overclock. Your overclock is never stable above 700 hence why you see frames drop.

Easy way to test is using heaven benchmark and just simply pause on a scene, now increase the memory until you notice the fps drop, that is when the ECC kicks in.

Yep.  He should also be using HWiNFO to monitor his vram temps.

Any help please? how can i recover the first normal bios if i have no image.

Thank you
