I just purchased the Supernova 850 GA from my local computer store, now im scared since im planning to get a 5600x and a 3080 and have no way of testing it atm.

I have the 850 GA paired with a I9 10900k plus 3090 ftw3 and can confirm that it is having problems. With or without over clocking my gpu I get random restarts. I’ll be able to narrow down wether it’s the power supply or the gpu when my new power supply comes in.

The PSU carries a 10 year warranty. When I had my first system shutdown I called EVGA and within minutes they sent me a new in box 1000w G3. It was effortless.

Here's the problem, I don't live in the US

I had a 750-GA with the same issues as everyone else reporting in. I put the RMA in last Thursday by phone (12/17). Put in the collateral for cross-shipping. They say wait 1-3 business days once approved, and that was actually spot-on as I received shipping notice last night (12/22). This morning I got from the shipping label they were sending me an 850-G+. That's quick service.

I think so. The replacement showed up 48 hours ago, and it was an easy install. It didn't come with any cabling, if anyone is interested. Just unplug the cables, swap the PSU and plug them back in. Since then I haven't had any PSU shutdowns. I've been running my 3080 FTW3 Ultra full-tilt, and enabled the DOCP to let the RAM get up to 3600 (doing the latter previously seemed to exacerbate the shutdowns). If I go a few more days without issues, I'll fell pretty confident in the results.

What PSU are you using now with the RTX 3080?

bought a 850 ga 2 months or so ago. with 1080 fine. got a 3080 ftw ultra, psu whining so loud now under load. rma 850 ga replacement coming in a few days. will update
