Finally i found the problem....
it was the second section of the motherboard 24 pin plug that plug into power supply, the second connector was not quite well connected because as soon as I pulled out the power supply the 24 pin cable came out, I reconnected the 24pins cable making sure it was properly connected and since then no random restart!

so if you have the same problem , maybe just check all your cable if its all properly connected into power supply .....

Seasonic GX750 or the old version?

I am not overclocking my CPU  and my Seasonic focus gold 750 psu is shutting down on a basic power test with the FTW ULTRA 3080.

Think i figured out how to fix the issue. I have an i9900k and a 3090 ftw. My psu is a 850watts thermaltake rgb tough power. I was getting shutdowns/restarts every 20 mins of play. The way I fixed this issue is lowering the gpu clock speed about 50 MHz in precision. Ran stress tests for 2 hours and played multiple games. No shutdowns, it’s a temporary fix but since every psu is sold out this is will hold me for another year at least. 50 MHz is not a huge difference in speed anyways. Hopefully this will help.

I really don't think it's his power supply specifically. I have a seasonic 750w which is a quality brand but it's also shutting down. It's evident that a 750w PSU isn't enough for both the 9900k and 3080.

Certain PSU models can't handle the transient power spikes of the 3080's and 3090's.

Even some 850W units are shutting down....

We know the EVGA GA and some Seasonic Primes and Focus also shut down.

The ones we know work are, so far:

EVGA G2, P2, T2;

Corsair RMX, RMI, HX, and HXI.

Corsair AX not on he list?

Hello everybody,

I have question regarding my PSU.
I read that many of you had issues with RTX 3080 and Seasonic Focus 750w Gold.
Unfortunately I have same PSU and now I'm worried because of shutdowns you were mentioning.
My PSU is about 6 months old and I'm afraid that it may shutdown my PC while playing very graphics intense games.
Here are my full PC specs:
Desktop:
OS:Windows 10 x64
-------------------------------------------------------
Monitor:LG 27UD58-B
-------------------------------------------------------
CPU:Intel i7 10700KF
-------------------------------------------------------
CPU Cooler:Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360
-------------------------------------------------------
MBO:MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk
-------------------------------------------------------
GPU:EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 XC3 ULTRA GAMING
-------------------------------------------------------
HDD:1 TB WD Blue
-------------------------------------------------------
RAM:2X8 RAM Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz
-------------------------------------------------------
PSU:Seasonic FOCUS 750 Gold
-------------------------------------------------------
Case:SilentiumPC Signum SG7V EVO TG ARGB
-------------------------------------------------------

I have connected my PSU with my RTX 3080 via 2x PCIE cables, but I was thinking if ordering another third party/universal PCIE cable would help?
That way I would have 3x separate PCIE cables in my GPU (I'm not sure if universal PCIE cable would work although being universal).

Also,I haven't been playing anything yet,but I ran OCCT stress test for PSU for 5 hours SSE and it passed.

I have an Seasonic GX 750W, 2 Month old....it works with the FTW3 so far 2 Direct 8pin+1 in daisychain. I'm still stress testing the GPU to see if I will have some problem, so far it's good.

What model of GPU do you have RTX 3080 or 3090?
Did you play any games with it for more than 4 hours and what stress tests did you do?

I have 3080, I played for about 5-6hours for now..Call of duty MW. I used 3DMARK Extreme test and Unigine. Can you please notify me here on this forum if you will have any problems? I'm thinking also to underclock at least 50hz Boost, cause the Cards pulls about 380W.
You can add me on discord, so we can discuss it further.

I will definitely notify you here if I encounter any problem.
I was thinking of underclocking too,but I don't know how many FPS would I lose in games like Cyberpunk 2077.
I don't have discord unfortunately :/ but I will report any issues here ASAP.
I have Evga RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra Gaming.I still haven't play any games, but I heard people had problems with graphically demanding games like Borderlands 3,so I'm going to test it with it in next few hours.I'll get back with results once I'm finished.
