There are no ultras, they are the older models in which some of them have that issue, all ultras have been replaced.

There are the Non Ultra Primes. (The ones with the issue)

There are the Prime Ultras. (Don't have the issue)

Then there are the One Seasonic Models, the Prime TX, PX and GX.

Well ima try the evga 1000w titanium psu on Friday. If that doesn’t fix problem I’ll give the evga 1600w titanium one from micro center a shot. After that ima just rma the gpu, but im like 90% sure it’s the seasonic psu, and that they don’t require a flip switch.

It's a known working unit so you will be fine.

You just told me it’s not my psu though? Now I’m even more confused. My pc instant restarts. No windows “restarting” and it only happens when I increase power limit to max on afterburner/precision x1 30 series version. Something is triggering some instant hardware turn off (or I guess by your definition HARD restart). I guess you are saying that it’s the gpu and psu? I’m so lost.

What I ment was that PSU, the 1000W TI is fine.

And that was all.

I have the same issue with my 3080 FTW3 Ultra as well. Running on an EVGA Supernova G2 850W that supposedly "high quality." I have been using this PSU for 5 years with my 6700K and 980ti and it was fine until now. GPU ran at stock speed and cpu has a slight OC at 4.5ghz while memory is running its default XMP profile.

Been dealing with restarts for about 2 weeks randomly. Most of the time, its under light load (youtube, twitch)...that's the sad part. Under stress test - no reboots. When gaming, it happened once... I believe Windows Event Viewer says that I have about 9 reboots in the past 14 days. I tried re-seating the cables, running it on stock, running an undervolt..and etc. Even monitored the 12V rail with HWinfo64 (fluctuating between 12.192 and 12.096V under load and a constant 12.228 idle).

Next stop is to try another replacement PSU. I am contacting customer support for this. Based on Nvidia's recommendation, the FE card is running at 320W and requires a 750W psu. By that logic/ratio …the FTW3 ultra card which runs at 380W - 405W (for me), would need around 900W to 967W PSU. But then again, a lot of people are running their 3080 fine on 750W and 850W. Well, done ranting...will continue to troubleshoot and good luck to everyone in the thread.

I might be mistaking, but I read somewhere here on this forum, unless I'm confusing with different model that EVGA G2 has issues with these cards

In the list it shows a number of G2s working fine.

It's the GA that's the real issue for the EVGA PSUs.

The G2 was one of the best PSUs on the market before they stopped selling them.

Well unfortunately for me that's not the case. Maybe 5 years of use took its toll on the PSU.. I am hoping it is the PSU and not that actual GPU ...but at this point who knows? . Only way to find out is if I get another PSU to check. Hoping EVGA would cross-ship me a replacement to check.  FYI..the error i get is the typical kernel power 41 error - "sudden lost of power". This system been stable for 5 years until the gpu upgrade.

Kernel 41 could be a number of things, but it is normally related to the PSU or the MB.

See what EVGA can do for you.

Yep, thats why I am hoping its the PSU. I would assume everyone else who ran into this reboot problem would have the same error in event viewer. I've been troubleshooting with EVGA for about a week. Do you think this has anything to do with the x16 PCI-E slot? I did notice that my pcie slot no longer "clicks" in like it used to..maybe the retention clip at the end wore out but that shouldnt affect the card too much as long as it seated properly in.
