This is happening to me. Sudden shutdown and have to flip the switch on the psu. Going to get a corsair psu tomorrow. I'm done with this.

There is an issue with 3000 cards, especially EVGA, Asus or MSI don't suffer from that as much and I said that earlier. Never the last, I have also spoke with Seasonic earlier today and there is some true to the fact that due to the fact that these cards are so power hungry and can also spike rapidly which triggers some PSUs to short, nothing to do with whatever switch you hear about.

Using your words..... If the PSU shorts....... That  triggers the OCP or OPP etc and the PSU shuts down.

Which means you would have to flip the switch on the PSU to reset it so it will turn back on again.

It could be. I know my older x79 mobo, Asus especially was very sensitive to voltage spikes and would trigger to shot down or restart the system I literally had to turn that feature off.  I also think, this is a bit different, Its combination with EVGA cards and some models of PSUs.

Well ima try the evga 1000w titanium psu on Friday. If that doesn’t fix problem I’ll give the evga 1600w titanium one from micro center a shot. After that ima just rma the gpu, but im like 90% sure it’s the seasonic psu, and that they don’t require a flip switch.

People said earlier that if your PSU trips ocp/opp, then to turn it back on you have to flip the power switch off and back on. They were saying if you didn’t have to do that, then psu’s ocp/opp is not the problem...and to look at other components like the GPU.

NOTE: My theory is that ocp/opp is handled differently on this psu, and it doesn’t require the flip of a switch. Maybe a mobo setting on the z390 aorus master that reboots psu too, idk.

Nope, that's how modern PSUs work.

If the protection in the PSU is triggered and it shuts off it has to be reset before it will turn back on again.

That's what the switch does on the back of the PSU, the power switch serves that purpose.

I have brand new Seasonic 1300 Prime Platinum and 1000 TX-Titanium and Seasonic support assured me today that these will work 100% as they are the revamp models and if  your PC will reboot as it happens to others then the problem is elsewhere.

It's a known working unit so you will be fine.

There are no ultras, they are the older models in which some of them have that issue, all ultras have been replaced.

You just told me it’s not my psu though? Now I’m even more confused. My pc instant restarts. No windows “restarting” and it only happens when I increase power limit to max on afterburner/precision x1 30 series version. Something is triggering some instant hardware turn off (or I guess by your definition HARD restart). I guess you are saying that it’s the gpu and psu? I’m so lost.
