Got email from Seasonic this morning, it has to be replaced and they are cross-shipping me a replacement now after I put in a safety deposit.

Still curious as what kind of replacement it would be, they did not say anything regarding what is replacing my current one.

No idea what Seasonic will do, but I called EVGA about my 850w GA. Kept freezing, crashing and then getting reboots. They told me it had something to do with the internal circuitry of the GA and they believe something to do with the Eco mode. They are cross shipping me a different model.

Got an email chat from Seasonic. They are shipping me a bare unit (no cables) which is "re-certified" that have fixed the shutting down problem. When asked what model I am getting, they just replied "exact same model with the problem fixed"

First time hearing they ship re-certified PSU as replacement. I know they do it for HDD at Western Digital and Seagate.

I'll reference your call to EVGA if I run into a problem with my 850w GA.  I wonder if I should even bother as mine is unopened...

So I am a bit confused. I also have issues with my PC INSTANTLY restarting. It only happens when I increase the power limit to max on the 3090 FE. I have a 1000w seasonic titanium psu. Everyone is saying that it is likely the psu with a problem...but they are also saying if it was the PSU’s over current protection, then I would HAVE to switch the flip in the back. I don’t have to flip switch, the pc was stable with 2080 ti ftw 3 ultra, and it just INSTANT RESTARTS under heavy load with power limit increased. Are you all sure ocp will FORCE you to flip switch, and that’s not just some brands ways of handling it? My issue is definitely hardware related as it goes from on-to-off-to-on within milliseconds. Fresh windows install too. Either gpu is bad, or seasonic ocp doesn’t force switch flip.

PS: I turned all other pc over clocks off...still happens with increased power limit.

Unless they don't have in stock, you will most likely always get refurbished replacement, yes its not fair, especially if you just purchased brand new but defective unit, but it is what it is.
Also, I'm sure you will get the new TX model which is virtually  the same unit, but with improved handling of high transient loads which is what some PSU suffering from.

Up to the "TX" Titanium, which is the newest model that fixes that problem, most of the prior models had that issue, its confirmed by seasonic

Other people are saying because I don’t have to “flip the switch in the back”...that it isn’t related to psu. Look earlier in forums and guy with same psu is having same problem. It’s like no one knows what is really going on with the 30 series and power supplies. It is clearly a voltage problem because it goes instant on off, and like you said, it is a known problem with this psu. Just confused why some people are claiming it’s NOT, only because I don’t have to flip the switch to get it going again.

There is an issue with 3000 cards, especially EVGA, Asus or MSI don't suffer from that as much and I said that earlier. Never the last, I have also spoke with Seasonic earlier today and there is some true to the fact that due to the fact that these cards are so power hungry and can also spike rapidly which triggers some PSUs to short, nothing to do with whatever switch you hear about.

People said earlier that if your PSU trips ocp/opp, then to turn it back on you have to flip the power switch off and back on. They were saying if you didn’t have to do that, then psu’s ocp/opp is not the problem...and to look at other components like the GPU.

NOTE: My theory is that ocp/opp is handled differently on this psu, and it doesn’t require the flip of a switch. Maybe a mobo setting on the z390 aorus master that reboots psu too, idk.
