Known working PSUs.

My Seasonic Prime Ti Ultra 750W (750TR) works with my 3080 and the XOC VBIOS, I fully tested it.

Was one of 4 that I personally tested, all different PSUs.

HX 850, HXI 850, Prime Ultra Ti 750W and AXI 1600W.

Like I said contact Seasonic, they are aware...

So you just directly email them or call them? I wonder what they are going to do.

Either call or email, or both.

They have very good customer service.

And your PSU has a 12 year warranty.

Did they offer you replacement?

On one hand I would love to solve this problem. On the other hand, having to go on a few weeks with no PSU would leave me unemployed.

Contact them and see for sure.

Won't know for sure until you call them.

Be nice though.... They could send you a Prime TX-1000W.

I put in a ticket last night do to crashing and restart issues with my 850w GA (I have a 3080 FTW Ultra). I was having issues out the gate and only just realized it was PSU related with the restarts and then finding this thread after having the belief it was my PSU.

I won't go into full details because YMMV, but I called EVGA this morning and they resolved my issue for me. Waiting on a replacement which should solve my issues. Love EVGA - best in the business. Seems I was frustrated and stressed out for no reason.

MY 3080 FTW3 Ultra died an hour ago.  Was working fine for two weeks.  One red light at end of card.  It is RMA'd already.  I am glad EVGA has great support.

"So it doesn't matter if the PSU is 650W or 1200W it will still just plain shut down if the PSU design can't handle the transient spikes."

True but a larger wattage supply probably has larger capacitors to help with transients.   I'll be mad if my 1200W P2 is insufficient.  This sensitivity to supply probably means they should have put a little more capacitance on the video card itself for faster response.

Depends on the actual model of the PSU.

But yes, normally with high quality PSUs they likely will, but not always.

The issue comes from the secondary side of the PSU, not the primary.

Yeah I know EVGA has amazing customer service, not sure about Seasonic. Sent them an email through their customer service already. Will report back what they say. For now I am forced to just use everything in default mode.

I'm trying to read up on the thread but wanted to add 2 cents.  My issue actually involves a 3080 FE rather than EVGA, but I'm spontaneously rebooting with a Seasonic 1000W Prime Ultra Titanium.  I feel like I should be good here but it reboots itself under load 1-2 times per day at stock speeds under load (Folding).  Underclocking/undervolting helps for sure but doesn't fix it.  Raising the power threshold reboots more frequently.

Nvidia has offered to replace the card and I was pointed here by enthusiasts so looking for data mostly.  I think the issue with transients is more general than a specific brand, obviously.

I reached out to Seasonic and awaiting response.
