Just wanted to share with you guys that I have an RTX 3090 FE which causes my PC to reset when playing titles such as RDR2 and Minecraft RTX after an hour or so on max settings; I'm on an AX1600i and tried replacing the PSU with an RM850X and the issue remains. Tried setting my system on stock settings and was still getting a reset. All other components were tested and system ran stable with a 2080 Ti beforehand. Like another poster said here in this thread, I believe it to be a driver issue. That or there is an issue with the GPU itself. Asking Nvidia if I should do an RMA or if this can be fixed via a driver update. Will let you know when they respond.

EDIT: I am able to play games such as BFV, Control, Death Stranding, Doom Eternal without the PC resetting itself and my cpu and ram on overclock settings. PC Specs: i9-10900k 5.1GHz, Trident Z Royal 32GB 4000MHz, RTX 3090 Founders Edition, Corsair RM850X/AX1600i, ASUS ROG Maximus XII Apex Z490, Corsair MP600 4TB NVMe.

Are you using 2 separate cables from the PSU to the 12 Pin Adaptor?

I did. However, there is some credence to the cable theory as I had premium sleeved Corsair cables (CP-8920224) which reset my pc even faster under load with RDR2 and Minecraft RTX (they were type 4 cables).

The problem is this only happens on those titles, everything else has been running fine with the stock PSU cables. Interested in what Nvidia has to say.

 
 
I am running the Corsair Premium cables with my HXI 850, TYPE 4 except for the 24 PIN Power cable that is TYPE 3 which is the one that came with the PSU.

It appears in some cases where it crashes it may just be a PSU issue, although a few others have 1000W+ and are still having issues, but it seems they only happen with games that use ray tracing extensively. Possibly there may be 2 issues here - an under-powered PSU is one, and the other is an issue with ray tracing.. possibly a driver issue with some sort of spike with rt that goes way beyond spec causing a crash no matter what the PSU is. Sound like a reasonable assumption? 
 

That's about where I'm at with all this. I did notice with RDR2, the GPU boosts were higher than the other titles I played via HWiNFO64, which I believe can be easily addressed with Nvidia's drivers.

Don't know about that game, I play others that have heavy RT though.

I just RMA’d my card. Two PSUs over 750w when calculator says 550w and still restarting. My enthusiasm for these cards slammed into a wall.

I know my system pulls a lot more than that... With the 3080 FTW3 Ultra. (And 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra)
 
Plug yours into the Seasonic calculator, it's at least pretty accurate.
 
My actual max power draw is 700W from the PSU to the system, that's not from the wall.
 
Not including power spikes.
 
Gaming loads are between 550W and 600W depending on the game, not including power spikes.
 
GPU not overclocked.

Plug yours into the Seasonic calculator, it's at least pretty accurate.

Gives real numbers, and they are accurate too.
 
Tells the power spikes are much higher than people may think, having real numbers to base on.....
 
Like your 625W, spikes could be well over 700W.
 
 

Seasonic Prime 1000w Platinum and no crashing/restarts/blue screen issues at all.
The fans get really loud sometimes for no reason that I can tell, but that's about the only issue. Oh, and a bit of coil whine.

My Prime Ultra Ti 750W fan was getting loud with the 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra so I replaced it with the HXI 850W.
