If a much smaller company like colorful caught it in advance...no reason the likes of EVGA and MSI, etc shouldnt have. Nvidia provided minimum spec...these companies looked at it...and said oh. Thats a little expensive, lets save some cost...time...no one is gonna notice..it will be fine...and we can still charge msrp or over.

Yea...no.

Is this going to actually be a significant enough of a change however?  There have been numerous reports of other brands using the 4+20 layout that are having similar crashing problems, and even the supposed FE cards that "were not crashing" have been reported to be crashing as well.  So far, there's only one known card in the wild that doesn't use any of the cheaper POSCAPs, but instead opted for 60 MLCCs instead.

In the event that this doesn't actually solve the problem, there's either a) going to need to be a bios update that addresses the problem, which likely means it will just be undervolting the card, which also means any "overclocked" card premium you pay for is just throwing money away or b) a second hardware refresh where they use better components.

U guys knew about this issue weeks, if not months ago...and you are all coming out of the closet now...ONLY BECAUSE OF INDEPENDENT REPORTING. This is not how u build trust...

Why would EVGA announce that they fixed it and it's not an issue? They're only clarifying why reviewers are seeing an issue.

I mean, they didn't NEED to say anything - they didn't ship the bad units to anyone except reviewers. Did you even read the post? They only posted this because people were spreading bad information due to review units and the old store pictures. Now our worries are alleviated.
