So I have the 3080 xc ultra and I'm getting major hitching in most games, anyone else experiencing this?

My XC3 Gaming which seems to have the correct layout as described in the initial post (1 MLCC/5POSCAP) constantly crashes during games, I have reinstalled the nvidia drivers, downclocked the gpu by 20mhz (which I think is enough?) and adjusted the temp/power target of the card.

Still crashes to desktop and/or CTD and BSOD, never happened with my 1070 in-game, tbh this seems like a driver issue. Crashed in Doom Eternal and Mafia Definitive edition.

LOL.  Told you so.

Edit: so it sounds like they had to swap them out at the factory in Asia, not stateside.  But I was correct in that it is what caused the delay.

And do you think this is what caused the shortages or no?

Just the delay of the FTW3 3080 card.  They had to swap out parts on already built boards, I think.  I gave estimates of 10-30 minutes per array elsewhere.

Thanks for the reassurance! Glad I decided to stick around and wait.

Im also waiting for my 3080 FTW3
little strange:
Asus cheap B line TUF: full 6 MLCC
EVGA not so cheap A line FTW: only 2 MLCC and 4 (cheap) POSCAP's

Looks like the photo has been updated for the 3090 XC3, and it's got the 4 POSCAP + 20 MLCC config:

i could really use someone ELI5 on the differences in the configurations.  i see many seeing the Asus version with the 6 of 6 MLCC is actually not desired.  Why is this? lower life span? what is lower? 6 years vs 8? 10 yrs vs 15? at what loads?  Does this apply if we watercool these cards?

lots of questions  : /

All EVGA production cards are GOOD TO GO! Zotac, Gigabyte, and other Chinese companies have had to downclock. Looks like EVGA solved issue prior to prod!!!

Hope this helps~
