If Nvidia uses 4+2 on their card why haven't EVGA cards got the same throughout the range?

So according to a tweet I saw and further confirmed by the updated product images, the XC3 3090's have 20 MLCC caps unlike the 3080's that come with only 10. I haven't opened my XC3 Ultra 3090 yet to confirm but this is at least a good sign.

Jacob, first off, thank you very much for the update.  this is the exact practice of why I do buy and will keep buying EVGA products.  you see a problem, even after production, you fix it.

that said, all those first run cards......... whats gonna happen to them?  do they get modified to get the updated parts load?  or do they go into the scrapper?  might I suggest a return of the DT model card and make it a little cheaper.  ;)

LOL.  Told you so.

Edit: so it sounds like they had to swap them out at the factory in Asia, not stateside.  But I was correct in that it is what caused the delay.

And do you think this is what caused the shortages or no?

Been very impressed with EVGA's communication the past week. Everybody else has shutdown and Jacob has been great at communicating with everybody.

If Nvidia are you using a 4+2 so should all the board manufacturers to use 5+1 is the basic minimum spec we buy these cards in the belief that we are getting more than basic spec. In some cases some board manufacturers are creating cards below minimum spec what is the point in paying the premium for these cards if the manufacturers penny pinch at every corner. The 3080 is my first upgrade with an EVGA card I'm hoping it is not a disappointment.

I don't get how anyone could react poorly to this post.  They literally said only reviewers got the flawed versions.  It literally doesn't impact us normal consumers at all aside from the fact that they had to delay the ftw3 (rightly so) to correct the issue before taking any money for them.

100% agreed.  Watching them navigate through this has made me determined to move more of my rig to EVGA products.

U guys knew about this issue weeks, if not months ago...and you are all coming out of the closet now...ONLY BECAUSE OF INDEPENDENT REPORTING. This is not how u build trust...

Sometimes in house testing simply doesn't catch things that are discovered when hundreds of users get their hands on a product and start using. He literally said they fixed it before the cards ever went out to customers. What else do you want?

For real. Hysterics all around with this 30 series launch, good lord.
