Ok guess I'm just shocked as this happened within' a couple of months it almost feels like.  I thought this was going to take like a year.  This had been the card I wanted, next up getting the water cooling kit so I can put it in a mITX setup.  If I buy a longer warranty does it apply to the step up card too?  Just curious.

Yes. The warranty will transfer over to the new card.

Both original and the extended warranty will start fresh from the start since you are actually buying a new card not just exchanging the cards

This partially correct.  The extended warranty will transfer to the new card, but that warranty clock starts on purchase date of the original card.

If you did not purchase an extended warranty, then the warranty is a full three years on the new card.

I think you are wrong, it starts fresh. I just did a step up and mine started all over.
I got a new three year warranty and the extra 7 years starts at the end of the new three year warranty.

I think the best way to explain the situation is that an Extended Warranty adds X number of years to your current warranty.  Once your current warranty expires, the Extended Warranty begins to be used.  When doing a Step-Up, you really can't use up your original warranty (or, at least, let's hope you don't wait for 3+ years in queue), so the extended warranty will transfer to your new Step-Up card in full.

Of course, that might just be the programming handling it that way, but this is what would be reflected on your account.

Oh man, they got my card on 12/9 too. But they didn’t ship it on the Friday =[

I guess 1660 is too cheap for them, low priority xD
