8/09/21 7:03 PM EST: Received by RMA department

Would be stoked if I get it by at least Saturday. I chose UPS ground for return shipping.

Yeah it is ridiculous.. I mean I appreciate the service, but a year for a step up is absolutely atrocious.. But the good thing is they are a great company and I swear by their graphic cards and will still remain to do so though.

It's gotta be a wake-up call for the global economy that chip manufacturing cannot be concentrated in one region. It's good to see that we're moving to have foundries all over the world. Hopefully, the whole supply chain process will become fully automated to where a global pandemic will not put it to all but a screeching halt.

My Step 1 was 10/19, so I should be getting the Step 2 email sometime in the next week or two (hopefully). I'll say this... After waiting in a queue for going on 10+ months, I will never be using EVGA's Step-Up program again. At this point, I've seen multiple friends find MSRP 3080's at retailers in the last 3-ish months without even trying that hard. Being locked into the queue path -- and getting auto-downgraded to an LHR model in the midst of it -- has turned me completely off to this process for the future. I'll try my hand at the open market next time.

I would have not guessed myself step up would take so much time, and you (I mean US customers) can consider yourself happy since in the European queue, it hasn't moved a bit for months now, and the last people getting their step up taken care of were on 09/20 step 1, somewhere in May. I joined step up on October 2nd and I have absolutely no clue when it will be addressed, but my guess is that it will take a very long time and I will most likely have to wait for more than a year.

That being said, a lot of people (myself included) used step up like a backup order to get our hand on a always out of stock RTX 30xx. This was initially not the aim of the step up process. It was a chance given to people that bought end gen products (and I mean before the release of the next generation) to upgrade to the new product when it is released.

I do not work at EVGA to be affirmative but I guess they had a lot more of step up demand than on any other GPU release, and given the fact that it occurred right into the pandemic and its supply shortage, and in another addition that Nvidia really hyped the whole market releasing cards that outperform greatly the previous one... All that plus the crypto currencies mining thing that swallowed a good part of the GPU production... I cannot imagine a worst case scenario than this one. : P

Anyway, I wish you all to get your step up cards soon! : )

I feel i got tricked into buying a GPU paying an officially approved EVGA scalping retailer well above MSRP under the impression i would get credit for full amount i paid and the step up cost was only MSRP. turns out i was officially scalped then EVGA says keep waiting in line and maybe one day you can be so lucky to pay full upgrade cost + full amount tax + shipping... but i cant have the card i was promised at first to bait me into the deal.. nope they had to switch on me, so i must step down and i get a trash LHR reference model? Not worth it at all. Actually its a total ripoff they should rename the STEP UP to the BAIT AND SWITCH program.

They certainly wont... cover 3rd party scalper prices and honestly, they shouldn't. .. You can request the type change btw if you email them.

Did you not read through the step up information before buying? Surely there was no trickster that tricked you to buy anything.

You sound like you tricked yourself.

Why would EVGA credit you for more than MSRP. You hit your head or something?

Plus since you don't understand that Nvidia made the switch to LHR and EVGA didn't tells me you shouldn't be buying PC hardware.

Who's this approved EVGA scalper retailer?

SMH all types of something going on in this post.

Who buys from an unauthorized seller for a huge markup and expects the company to pay a rip off price towards a non scalped card. You have to be joking? This has to be a troll post lol
