I received my Step 1 email at 10:57am EST on the 17th. Hoping the Step 2 email comes in this week. 
 
Questions: 
 
1) Does the shipping I have selected apply to both my 2080 shipping to EVGA and the 3080 coming to me? Or do I have to pay separately to ship my 2080 to EVGA on my own? 
 
2) Does it matter what box I put my 2080 in? I have a spare box from Amazon that I haven't thrown out that'll fit the 2080 retail box in nicely, and I have a bunch of bubble wrap and shipping air pillows to keep the 2080 supported.

When you get to that step they will send you instructions.  The shipping you selected is how the 3080 will be shipped to you.  The instructions they send will give you a guide on how to package up and box your 2080 and send it to them.

List updated. For registrations after 9/27 I will not be including timestamp. As the number of registrations per day has decreased, I do not think including that info is necessary. Im hoping EVGA inventory should stabilize by then, and people who registered on the same day as one another shouldn't have a dramatic difference in wait time.

I received my email on 9.17 @ 8:11AM MT, so I guess that would make it 10:11AM EST.
