"Current/EDP Limit Throttling" in XTU, or "Electrical Design Point/Other (ICCmax, PL 4, SVID, DDR RAPL) in hwinfo64

I am experiencing this exact issue, not performance per clock cycle being reduced from security patches. Intel DTS reports no thermal throttling or other performance limit flags.
The cpu is power limited in some way. Reducing clockspeed and voltage or disabling cores can increase the avx load speeds as the power requirements are lower. It also only throttles at high amperage loads, even when temps have hardly came up from idle

Same issue here. I tried same CPU on a asus z390 maximus gene, and no more limits. CPU package power can be over 200W continously; no throtteling (current/EDP/temp...) in intel XTU...
When using default bios settings on EVGA z370 micro, CPU temp can reach 100°C with Cinebench, must set manual voltage etc. to have a correct 70°C.
I am a little disappointed by this motherboard (bios/uefi in fact), if I want to keep it in my computer. I think my only choice is i9 with my 2nd hand z390 maximus gene, or keeming my Z390 with a smaller CPU...

I expect a 1.14 bios which fix these issues, i9 9900K(F) appears to be supported by this motherboard, and it is not exactly true, even at default settings, you must change important settings to have "normal" operation. When you buy such a motherboard, I think you can expect more than a $90 B360 MB.

I hope there is a fix. I am already looking for different matx that can fit a 4 slot gpu.

Hi,
I installed a i3 9350K on this motherboard. Overclocked to 5.1 GHz and :
Benchmark scores seems to be OK  (CPUID 605 single core /2250 multi; Cinebench R15 around 800 points ...)
2 hours prime 95 without errors
no throttling at all on XTU (temp or power)
Temp never exceed 81°C with my Noctua NHU12A

But I don't understand something : when using Hwinfo/XTU/HWmonitor...) CPU power package is always under 50W... when it is around 100W on my other motherboard (asus z390 gene)
I noticed the same issue with my previous i9 cpus, is there an issue when reading sensors or something like that?

I ordered a i9 9900KS I will see... for science :)

Has this issue been solved yet?

I have a 9900K on EVGA Z370 Micro 1.16 bios. I am getting Current Limit throttled. No settings available to adjust current limit in BIOS. Overclocking LN mode does not change Current Limit. XTU settings do not change Current Limit.

Using the same 9900K on a cheap Asrock Z390M Pro4 does not encounter any current limit throttling, as its BIOS allows Current Limit configuration.

At this point I don't know if it will ever be fixed, there have been 2-3 bios released since the issue was mentioned.

Is bios downgrade possible on Z370 micro? I would lose resizable bar, but get unlimited power limits. If it's possible, what is the last bios version to support unlimited power limits? Is it 1.08 indicated in the original post?

Not with 9th gen, I have used all the compatible bios. 1.11 doesn't even work right at default settings with 9700KF, 1.12 and up all have the same power limit issue. Board seemed to work fine with 8th on earlier bios but no adjustable llc.

You might be able to flash an the older bois.
