I'm hoping that RMA will be the solution and whatever is sent back doesn't have the same issue. Maybe its just a bad batch of cards or something like that.

I'm hoping they just send a replacement fan honestly. It's a few Philips screws and a small connector sending the whole card back for RMA seems like overkill and an inconvenience, either way I'm sure EVGA will make things right for us.

I agree with that but in the past it seems you have to send the whole card in for 1 fan.

They never have in the past.. swap whole card or cooler is an option I believe.

Hopefully they quickly figure out the issue and make it right.

I'd be happy with having options. I would be more than willing to pay the difference and upgrade to a FTW3 Ultra if those don't have the issue.

This is probably a design issue where the turbulence from the fan is interacting with the cooling fins and causing a buzz or squeal type noise. The same issue with the PWM fans on the Hybrid shroud on the 1080 Ti.

Man I hope not... not as easy a fix if so.

I imagine if turbulence was an issue the noise would change along with fan speed, which isn't the case.

I doubt it. If that were the case it wouldn't be a constant sound as the fan ramps up from zero. This is 100% the fan electronics or the power delivery for them.

You would be surprised what kind of noise you can get. On the 1080 ti, the PITCH does not change only the timbre and volume. Most here are saying it DOES change, so I don't know what you're on about.

It isn't constant though and and PWM fan noise also changes with RPM. Not sure why folks are not making technically accurate comments. Come on, it is just a theory based on experience.
Lastly, as far as I know, all three fans are identical. So, the theory of it being a defective FAN would seem unlikely as the LOCATION is the common denominator not the type or model of fan.

It is consistent when the fan is being powered.  Others have reported this as well.
When the noise is "beeping"  this is in a stage where the fan is switching on and off,  which I have noticed happening some during idle.
I've tested different loads and fan curves - if the fan is powered, it makes the noise.  If you kill the fan, the noise stops even though the fan has not spun down yet.

Well boys looks like this is a bigger issue then we think. I was one of the few that lined up and got an evga card. My XC3's third fan has a buzzing/coil whine noise. This has been narrowed down as i have stopped it with my finger and the noise goes away and the other two fans are fine. Contacted EVGA support and they told me RMA is the only sollution (Good luck with that). Is there any way we can rally together and get some replacement fans? Or is this going to be a deshroud and noctua flex?
