Recently I noticed that fan 1 on my 2080ti FTW3 will ramp up to 100% as the GPU hits 64-66C. I have a fan curve set that all fans follow no problem, but once I hit that temp fan 1 just ignores the curve and goes to 100%. I tried a clean install of the latest nvidia drivers and PX1 without any luck.

There shouldn't be any other software running that would conflict and cause it. I haven't done anything to the card other than a good dust cleaning and re-applying thermal paste, but that was long before I started having this issue.

Really not sure where to go from here, it's driving me crazy as the noise from just one of these fans randomly going to 100% is very annoying.

Any ideas?

Px1 leaves stuff behind when you uninstall it. Maybe that is causing it? I believe one would need to enter windows safe mode to remove all the leftover evga folders from the px1 install.

Hope it's something that easy cause might be a rma to fix.

Ya, EVGA mentioned to delete these directories but I didn't have them on my end after uninstalling PX1.

"C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd"
"C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\PX18"

Seems strange that it started happening out of nowhere though. Really hope I don't have to RMA.

Not a good sign if it started out of nowhere. Meaning you didnt install a new version of px1 when it started.

Have you installed msi afterburner during this?

Updated the bios on the card?

Nope, i've had 1.0.7 since it was released but only started running into the issue recently. I've had MSI AB installed forever for monitoring. And as far as I know the bios on the card hasn't updated.

Have you tried closing px1 and then make changes to the fan with afterburner?

I know afterburner will only control gpu fan 1. So set that at a static speed and test on a game or bench to see if the fan takes off to 100% at 65c.

I'm just having the same issue with my 3070 FTW3, but with 33º C...
Did you find any cause or fix for this?

Thank you in advance.
