I'm also looking at the 3090. Just waiting until we have some waterblocks and I can retire my 1080.

Anyone knows if there is any difference between 3090 XC3 and FTW3 on cooling part apart from the sensors? Are they using the same cooling design method and heatsink?

I have always been a huge fan of EVGA's design. I love how 10 Series looks and I think that 1080 Ti SC2 (which I currently own) is the most beautiful card up to date. I was looking forward to buy EVGA's 3080, but after seeing the design, I'm disgusted. It looks like a cheap chinese plastic toy with tons of tryhard RGB's. This is going to be my first non-EVGA GPU after a long time. You've lost a loyal customer because of horrible design decisions :(

Get rid of the red accents now! I have been a EVGA customer since the 980 Ti and have purchased the FTW model for every generation. I will not purchase an EVGA model card with these disastrous and ugly as **** red accents though.

Thanks for all the info so far. Could we please get confirmation on what "2.2 slot" and "2.75 slot" means in actual measured dimensions? Will it utilize a 3-slot IO backplate, or a 2-slot? And for the width within the case, how does "2.2" and "2.7" translate into MM for the total thickness of the card (PCB with all fans, heatsinks, etc.)?

Thank you!

I don't quite understand this either. What is the difference (design wise) from the XC3 and FTW3. If it's just more sensors than what is "normal" (whatever that means) it's a good deciding factor. Cooling looks the same.

Additionally, how many 8 power connectors will I need for the 3090 series? I'm trying to find the information through pictures but the range I am seeing is anywhere from 2x8pin to 3x8pin. Either case, I need to buy a new PSU but just knowing what's what would seriously be a huge help! Thank you!

I have to agree. I shouldn't get so hung up on design and still plan to go with an EVGA card for my 30 series upgrade... but wow, the red accents and design language make it a real tough choice. The only real benefit to come out of the RGB craze is the ability to tailor your system's scheme to suit your style. It makes it really hard to do that when a manufacturer forces you into components with clashing color schemes. I just hope they can be removed.

Agreed totally. These cards are disastrously ugly. Sorry EVGA, you're losing a customer over it.

Those curves are fugly. Also, red accents? Seriously? It's not 2014, just because it's for gaming doesn't mean it needs to be red and black.
