I just bought a 2070 super last month and am wondering if I can step up to the 3070/3060 when they come out next month since I don’t think there will be Super’s.

Hello, and welcome to the forums. Our current requirements for the step-up program are listed on our promotion page here:
 https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

I cannot speculate on upgrade options in the future or for unreleased products, however this is partly why the step up program exists in the first place. If you purchased your product new from one of our authorized resellers, and are within 90 days of your purchase date (verified with a receipt or invoice) you may opt into the program for an available product of greater performance and value.

They added a new banner to the store pages that make it sound like they might be slow to add the new cards to the step up program, thus making a lot of people fall out of their 90 day window.  Kinda makes me instantly lose confidence in the step up program.

I purchased a 2060 Super some months ago and then registered for the step up to a 2070 Super. Step-Up Queue 5/26/2020.New Part Number 08G-P4-3277-KR. I really don't think that's going to happen now or if it's even worth waiting for a 2070 at this point. Everything is just so screwed up now from pricing to availability of cards.

you entered step up queue to go from 2060 to 2070 in may, and it still hasn't come through?

No. Not even a peep. No word at all. So I have just given up on it honestly.

Edit: and I'm not putting blame on anyone for anything. It's just the circumstances we all find ourselves in. When the time comes I will just pay full boat to upgrade my card later.

That's not how it works though. Once you're in the queue, the 90 days thing no longer applies. If it takes beyond 90 days, it doesn't matter. You simply have 90 days to actually start the process.

After five months, I think I would have reached out to EVGA by now...that's kind of crazy IMO.
I just started the step up from a 2070 Super to a 3080 and I'm not expecting that to take 5 months even.

That is great to know...I've wondered about this with the current shortages.

My RTX 2080 from Newegg is coming in on Monday, I was planning to sign up for a step-up program, but this post is making me hesitate to decide whether I should open the Box and register the product or simply return it and keep hunting for a 3080 or even an AMD Navi. I was prepared to wait 5 months for the 3000 series shortage to end, but the Queue seems to be very very long, and EVGA hasn't even moved past the first hour of application yet.

I wonder if I have to wait until Christmas of 2021 to get an upgrade at this point. I don't blame EVGA or anyone else either, everyone is at nVidia's mercy.
