That's ridiculous pricing if true. Come on AMD, come out swinging...

Just my personal estimates.  Couple months ago I had 3070 at $649 and 3080 at $899, which I still hold to if there is no 3070 Ti.

Based on the rumored core counts, IPC and clocks, I had calculated the 3080 (23/24th cut down GA103) to be 2% stronger than a 2080 Ti.    If there is no binned/cut GA103, I'd expect the 3080 based on it to be more expensive.

Alternatively, the GA102 could be reserved for the Titan and Pro cards, with 3080 / 3080 Ti  being cut / full GA103.  Who knows.

I don't think they'll decide final prices until the last minute, market factors, forecasts, binning, yields, workstation card demand.  I bet they have a highly detailed market model that helps them set their pricing.

That would contradict what Nvidia had been saying for some time, iirc.  It will be cheaper than the current lineup, no?

I'm just guessing they won't considerably undercut their current price to performance ratios.

NVIDIA gave a warning that they expect mining usage to ramp back up this fall (decently high current cryptocurrency value plus cooler weather, usually = more mining), so that is another thing to consider. Cryptocurrency value and mining has been historically higher starting in the fall and then tapering off in the spring. If NVIDIA warned its partners about high expected demand, I would think that its pricing would be similarly adjusted higher accordingly.

Anything TT posts should be taken with a grain of salt just as any other rumor site. They make posts about literally everything and the only evidence is hearsay. The crypto market is unpredictable at best, and given how this year has gone so far I highly doubt NVIDIA made such predictions to anyone.
