Can't just arbitrarily make a new cable spec, 100% of the market doesn't have PSUs that support it. So fake.

im sure they will have adapters with the card

like two 8pin into a 12 pin

agreed, the ATX standard has solutions as my GTX 2080 needs 2 power tentacles, no problem, my HX1000i has it handled

Agreed. So fake.
Maybe some day in the future, but not this immediate future.

Nvidia is easing us into a new standard interface

instead of draw on two rails ( two plugs..ie two 8pins or two 6pins) they want one connector from 1 rail

seeing that all modern high end GPUs use Two power plugs  (both AMD and Nvidia do)

futture PSU's are to follow with New connector

What's Next About NVIDIA's New 12-Pin Power Supply? Don't panic, but that's actually overdue! igorsLAB investigative

And as is the case with rumors and snippets of information, various statements were spread, some of which even contradicted each other. On the one hand, there was the opinion that NVIDIA will already use this new 12-pin connector on the new high-end amp cards, whereby the PG132 reference board should continue to be equipped with two 8-pin sockets and only this new socket on the PG133-PCB of the Founders Edition.

In addition, there was talk of a 12-pin adapter included in the Founders Edition, which should enable the connection of two 8-pin EPS cables. This in turn was the reason for the excitement among the power supply manufacturers, because the EPS actually serves to supply the CPU, is currently available in maximum two and is mostly already being used in full. Thus, the reported connection would actually make no sense if one were not to introduce new power supply standards right away.

not 8.5 amps like the earlier post said but 9.5A

The adapter has been confirmed as fake. On the original FCPowerup article at the very bottom of the page it says the following, which people on the hardware Reddit say translates into...
