Last October I built a computer and used an EVGA 500 W1 80+ white and my computer has started to restart occasionally, but only when I've been playing some slightly more demanding games for a little while, and I have checked every other component and they are all working properly, with the exception of my PSU. The fan never spins, even on boot or under heavy load, and I was wondering if there was any way to fully confirm if it is defective, or if something came loose in the PSU itself.

See How do I test my power supply? in the EVGA FAQs about how to turn on the unit and make the fan run.

If your PSU has an "ECO switch" ..." turn it off" .. then the PSU fan should spin if turned on

If your PSU has an "ECO switch"

The 500 W1 80+ White doesn't.

I think he's looking at an RMA if it's still under the 3-year warranty..Or, time for another unit.
