and for those that are wounding if you can fold with a AMD card, sure can ...
i replaced my 2060 SC that got wet due to a water fitting leaking, taking out the 2060 and the power supply .
I replace the evga 2060 i got back from RMA with a XFX 5700XT ThiccII .
and im pulling 1.3mil PPD on core 0x22 a bit higher than what i was with the 2060.
The 2060 i was pulling 1.1 mil PPD.
the temp of the 5700XT runs around 63c to 66c, depending on the clock of the 5700XT, the 5700XT seems to over clock its self on stock setting..
when the 2060 was around 60c to 63c. at stock clocks ..
so not much of a heat deference and a little more on PPD with the 5700XT..

so the 5700Xt are a good card to fold with in my book.  in fact im looking in to getting another here soon ..  for my other system i have set up thats doing nothing these days ..

system i am building right now and running is all AMD,
AMD ryzen 5 -  3600
asrock x570 extreme 3
with the 5700XT on custom loop

As long as it is meeting the PPD you are hoping for any option is worth considering. I just think that the 2060 is the better card for graphics personally but haven't looked at the folding numbers for them side to side.

I don't put them down because I never pick them up.

Hated them since they were ATi. heh

As long as it works, that's fine.

Did you happen to notice if your Watts /power draw went up or down - after changing the GPU ?

With core 22 AMD GPUs are decent for folding, but Nvidia still has the PPD/W advantage. The nature of bonus points also skews PPD/W in favor of faster GPUs. (The 2080 Ti in particular benefits from this)

From my testing (core 22):

AMD:
Radeon VII: 1.5M PPD (~250W)
Vega 64: 1.35M PPD (~250W)
5700 XT: 1.3M PPD (~200W)
5500 XT: 550K PPD (~110W)

Nvidia:
RTX 2080 Ti: 3.5M PPD (~300W)
RTX 2070 Super: 1.8M PPD (~200W)
RTX 2070: 1.55M PPD (~180W)
GTX 1650 Super: 450K PPD (~100W)

not sure what the wattage is on my end.
But i can say i have ran a 2060 sc before going to my new 5700xt and with this card i have a gained about 60k - 100k more PPD, depending on what core i am on right now it is the corvid 19 virus 11743 0x22core.
but it is saying 1,288,665 PPD.
so this card to me is better than the 2060 i had been using ..  and im happy with it ..

Not sure whats going on with my 5700 XT currently, I was getting ~1.2-1.3 PPD estimated (I know not the real number but a reference).

I then screwed up my windows installation and had to do a fresh install last night.  So now I have a fresh windows isntall all drivers and system back
up to date and FAH is now showing ~550k PPD.  Not sure where that performance hit came from but trying to figure it out.

EDIT:  I did put my passkey back in so QRB should be active.

Edit 2: Well, turns out my BIOS clock got off and windows kept setting wrong time on boot.  Fixed that and now PPD estimate is back to where I would expect it
          It to be.

Just like with Nvidia, AMD allows you to lower the wattage on the GPU, at the cost of a minor PPD drop.

The Vega 64/Radeon VII can be ran as low as 190W, with only minimal PPD loss.
The 2080Ti I would run at 180W for core 21, and 225W for core 22. You'll still get 3.3 M PPD average (peaking at 4.4 MPPD on some beta projects, which is higher than running it stock).

Same with the rest of the RTX GPUs.
2060 to 2070 runs best at <129W
2070S and 2080 at <149W
Granted, that's with an overclock. One you wouldn't be able to apply at stock settings, because the GPU will run too high in frequency, and error.
