I'm kind of disgusted that partners are still power limiting GPUs.

What's more disgusting is they're doing it on a XC Ultra, what's the point of getting a pre binned GPU, having a custom pcb and power... And then nurfing it in to the ground with limits?

There is legit people with 2070 supers at £50 less getting over 2.1ghz and I struggle to maintain 2ghz.

What's the deal? Because support doesn't give a crap, which isn't looking promising for future EvGA purchases.

Clock speed isn't everything.

A RTX 2070 at 2100 MHz is still slower than a RTX 2070 Super at 2000 MHz.

So don't get too carried away and return your RTX 2070 Super and exchange it for a RTX 2070; you will probably be unhappy in the end.

A few things.

1.  2070 SUPERs aren't bined or on custom PCBs UNLESS it's a FTW3 as the FTW3s are on custom PCBs otherwise, you're on a standard reference PCB with a beefed up cooler and possibly slightly higher advertised clocker than the some of the others.  What are the other 2070s SUPERs are you basing it on?

2.  Are your temps holding you back?  Nvidia Boost calls the shots.  The cooler the better till diminishing returns but you won't know the full capabilities until you try and even than, it might not be what you expected.

3.  It could be silicon lottery and the other GPUs are just lucky.  That's how it works, yes.  EVGA won't replace a current GPU when it's working as advertised.  Anything after that is all luck and that goes with ALL brands of GPUs here including the 2080 Ti.

You're missing the point somewhat.

The point was its got restricted / reduced power limits which restricts the OC.

The only solution to that is the BIOS which is why he suggested it.

Cool GTX
OC is Never Guaranteed - Just the advertised speed

Are you looking at the GPU-Z sensor tab while testing ? (shows what your card is "limited by")

I've only built PC's for over 24 years, I know nothing at all about GPUs or overclocking them or PC's for that matter.

What I really wanted in life was someone posting something as silly as "ocs aunt guaranteed"

When we're talking about restricted power limits, like it's some welfare blower card from some Chinese maker.

NVidia has to approve the power limits in the bios for every partner, so NVidia may be limiting the partners.

That would be related if they didn't sell ones with the same limits as the founders edition already.

And partners should straight out refuse to sell their cards if they can't have the same power limits as the founders.
