  • Precision X1 shows 3 of 3 fans after troubleshooting, but other programs don't! 2080S FTW3

Hey there!

I have a big problem:
I used to have troubles with the middle fan on my 2080 Super FTW3 Ultra not spinning up at all until I started Precision X1.

Now, a few months later, the fan didn't spin up at all. I reinstalled the driver with DDU, reinstalled Precision X1 (with proper cleaning) aswell as removing the GPU and pushing the pins into the header a bit tighter.

Now the third fan showed up again and became controllable, but ONLY via Precision X1.

All other programs I tried to monitor the fan didn't show it!
I attached a screenshot of the monitoring software showing the problem.

I want to prevent my card from frying and really don't permanently want to monitor the temperature just incase the fan might be dying.

Can you guys tell me what to do?

Is this worth of an RMA? It seems like either the fan, sensor or cable is broken...

Thank you and have a nice day!

If everything is showing up in precision, and you're able to adjust everything via precision then there isn't a reason to rma at all.

What could cause that, though?

Shall I just spectate and keep monitoring?

Buggy software, buggy firmware, software conflicts from running too many monitoring programs at the same time.

+1 check for updates & only run 1 at a time

Thank you everybody, seems like it's really just a software bug :)!

Works fine now.
