so im in a bit of a predicament with my 850w EVGA power supply and my new rtx 2080, I recently upgraded from my 980 and realized the power cable I was using for it only had 14 pins not enough to power the 16 pins needed for the 2080, So I asked my friend to give me a leftover power cable and I just got it, It fits into my gpu fine, but the psu on the other hand it can't fit into the vga slot, only the cpu2 slot, so my question is , will something go wrong if I power some of my gpu from the cpu slot ?

Do not use cables from another psu. Yes, something will go wrong if you attempt to power the card the way you are. All EVGA 850w power supplies come with the proper cabling to power an RTX 2080. If you're missing cables I would recommend you contact evga support to get the cable you need. https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/
