vanadiel007, what motherboard and which processor are you using?  Which OS?  Do you have any other monitoring software programs running?

miklet, are your system specs up-to-date in your signature?  Which OS?  Any other software monitoring programs running?

I went back to version 2.0.8. Everything works fine except the CPU Temp. It reports 10 degrees less than actual. (It has always done that and I opened a ticket for that when I first got this unit and was told it is a known issue).
Also, version 2.0.9 displays the firmware as Version 0.0.0.0. Version 2.0.8 displays it as Version 2.10.0.0.

I would say something is up with the driver, which is installed as a service if I am not mistaken.

EVGATech_LeeM,
Added BIOS (latest from MSI) AGESA PinnaclePI-1.0.0.6 and added OS (latest Home version from Microsoft) to signature line. Balance of signature is up to date.
Only monitoring software running at startup is the Intel® Driver and Support Assistant.
EVGAPrecisionX1 version 11 loaded at startup but does not populate the system tray at startup. GPU-Z shows OC implemented at startup all the same.
Other software loaded as needed includes:
- HWInfo64 version 6.00-3620 temps in 30-50C range
- GPU-Z version 2.16.0 temps in 30-50C range
- Unigen Superposition benchmark program with GPU and CPU monitoring during benchmark shows CPU temps in the 30-63C range when running the 4K resolution test
- the EVGAPrecisionX1 software also has a onscreen monitor but when I try to use this, the precision software frequently closes on it's own. But when it works temps are in the 30 to 50C range.
- lastly games like Assassins Creed and F1 2018 over in-game, onscreen displays and again the range is 30 to low 60C during gaming

Best Regards
Mike

vanadiel007, thank you for the additional comments. I tried the version 8, version 5 and version4 and all still report the higher temp. Extra puzzle, why does version 8 work as it used to for you, but not for me!?! Curious about the shown version number. I wonder if there are more than one version 8's in the wild. Standby I will clean re-install version 8. Indeed my version 8 also reports it is 2.10.0.0..

My version 2.0.8 came directly from the Evga download location, so did version 2.0.9.
I can only speculate it is a driver issue as the firmware revision for this unit has to be read from the unit and for that you will need the driver supplied with the flow control software.

On a side note with version 2.0.9 they have fixed the issue with the software loading after the driver is initialized instead of before.
With version 2.0.8 and auto startup with windows enabled the software will error out saying it cannot find the hardware.
You have to start it up a second time. A minor issue, but still an issue.

vanadiel007, miklet did you guys go and check to make sure there were no left over folder / files between the uninstalls / re installs?
If so delete them

GGTV-Jon.
If I allow FlowControl to follow it's default installation then use uninstall to remove, where would I look for a leftover folder or files. More information please, I can't find what I do know where to look for. I spent a good hour examining the Registry looking for "leftovers" but did not locate any. However, I did not know where that search should occur either. How do you confirm that any leftovers have been found?

In my instance...
Flow Control installs to "...Program Files (x86)/EVGA/Flow Control". Note: LED Sync, Precision XOC and WinRing0 also install at this location.
When uninstall completes the "...Program Files (x86)/EVGA/Flow Control" directory remains. Also there is a "...Program Files (x86)/EVGA/Flow Control/Profiles" directory. Plus inside the "Profiles" directory there is one file named "CPUWB.cfg".
From the next test I deleted the "...Program Files (x86)/EVGA/Flow Control" directory. Next I turned off the computer completely so I could cold-boot fresh. Installed Flow Control version 9. CPU temps still read 90-100C+.

I repeated the process and on my next pass installed the previous Flow Control version 8. Flow Control now reports CPU temps in the low 30C's.

Cleaning out the directory did allow going back to version 8. This is good enough for me. Cleaning out the old directory appears to solve the problem of older versions that were re-installed after version 9 also reported anomalous CPU temp.
