All of these social media events, and I choose not to social media.
Is this Forum not "Social Media"
I suppose everyone has their own definition. By my opinion, forums are not social media. In my opinion, social media emphasizes a person's profile and sharing and displaying information person to person and profile to profile. To me, social media is the process of building a collection of media inside of a profile so that a person or organization can display themself in the way they desire, in a system where other profiles are able to comment, like, or share the information, as they see fit, in order to add on a sliver to their own profiles. Having organized groups of discussions in a forum does not fit my definition of social media. You may have a different opinion and definition.
With the below I can now see your point a little.
Forums, after all, are inherently
social -- they bring people together on common ground. But others disagree.
Forums are not "
social media" because they don't like the negative connotations of
social media (such as being "poked" like on Facebook). ... Forum discussion continues at High Rankings Forum.
But with this "because they don't like the negative connotations of
social media" and we have a lot of this on this Forum.
We have a lot of negative postings on this Forum that is, not always a "High Rankings Forum".
