I've had 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4340917) for a week and a half with no issues that I have noticed but took two tries to get the "Restart computer now" to apply and that was odd so my Update history shows (2) at the end this update.

It's August 14, 2018 also the second Tuesday of the month so that means another Cumulative Update has been released KB4343909 with an interesting addition
Provides protections against a new speculative execution side-channel vulnerability known as L1 Terminal Fault (L1TF) that affects Intel® Core® processors and Intel® Xeon® processors (CVE-2018-3620 and CVE-2018-3646). Make sure previous OS protections against Spectre Variant 2 and Meltdown vulnerabilities are enabled using the registry settings outlined in the Windows Client and Windows Server guidance KB articles. (These registry settings are enabled by default for Windows Client OS editions, but disabled by default for Windows Server OS editions.)
So who's going to enable it?

But anyhow successfully installed applied and currently running this new OS build 17134.228 so that's that until other wise find something to report.

Downloading them right now thanks Eye :)

If the fixes are enabled by default on Win10 clients I wont manually disable them.

Running windows outside its default parameters can results in unpredicted problems in other softwares like if you disable windows firewall then xbox live for windows group features stops working :)

I'll wait for for about a week, the Beta testers will see it is stable

Retail Windows clients already have a beta channel which means if the updates are knocking up on your computer and you're not subscribed to the windows update beta channel (called "insiders") it's already been used on a huge number of computers for some time so it's pretty safe to install ;)

You can delay them of course but i'd advice you to install them right away as you could be vulnerable to 0-day exploits if you dont (which no antivirus will ever protect you from).

Ha I don't know why but I was thinking Windows Client OS editions referred to Pro and Enterprise? 😄

Edit: I will always steer clear of beta anything.

This is the path a windows update follows to be released.

"Windows Client OS" refers to "current branch" on this schematic. They include every version of Windows 10 except the Entreprise and server versions to ensure that deploying them on companies that runs thousands of computers and servers wont have problems with them.

And even with this... They still have problems with them sometimes (i know we do where i work with Windows Entreprise at least :) But most of the time the problem comes with an incompatibility of an update with a proprietary software so not Microsoft's fault!).

Also there is a special version of Windows which is Windows 10 entreprise Long Term Service Branch (LTSB) that has reduced features (no windows store, no fancy options like "dark file explorer", no cortana...) to ensure maximum stability which most big companies which requires maximal security (like banks) are using.

Note that the time framed used in the picture above is for regular updates. For updates patching a 0-day vulnerability the time span is much lower.
