Thanks for the replies, guys. I got it up fine. I simply had to write down a few things since it had been so long since I messed with the bios settings.

Glad to hear it...

I wonder why EVGA didn't post a sticky about this latest BIOS revision...?

Frankly, I've just been really busy.  I have some time now, so I'm going to update the stickies for all of the motherboards that we released BIOS updates for.  Sorry for any confusion this caused.

Edit - Sticky has now been updated.

BIOS version 2.06 has the Spectre code in it which will slow certain things a bit, but I don't notice any perceptible difference in day to day use or while gaming.  I only see the difference in numbers with disk benchmarks.

You may want to try flashing it again to see if things improve.  You may have gotten a bad flash.

just updated to 2.06 via the bios. i NEVER run bios updates in windows. the only times ive had problems updating a bios were the few times i tried thru windows.
bot- ran a couple quick ssd benchmarks and saw a small gain with samsung magician benchmark and no difference with crystal disc. everything is running just fine so far. ill report back if i find anything unusual.

I wouldn't buy anything but EVGA these forums are the best help anywhere.  Re flashed the Bios  to 2.06 and all is good.

Just thought I drop this here, since the fix was moved to the "General  Software Section" for no apparent reason and hopefully the sticky won't get moved  smh...

With RS4 you can either uninstall the offending KB or replace the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll located in Windows/System32 .  RS5 is, concerning the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll that is updated with the carpy code, is integrated. So there is no KB to remove, to uninstall. The fix now is it take ownership of that file, rename or delete it and replace it with a version prior to the patch. I used the July version in SXS backup. Works perfect.
Until there's a fix, this is how you get your OC back. Enjoy.

Just installed the BIOS update today. Afterwards my computer wouldn't boot. I installed a new cooler and hoped it wasn't the problem. I haven't updated this BIOS in a while so I forgot that when you load defaults before flashing it "turns off" my M.2 drive. Changed my settings like they were before the flash and all is well.

Now what's this about CPU micro code and/or firmware that needs to be updated? I have a 5960X.

Did you Reset the Bios back to the Defaults before you updated, NOPE
You have two other Bios that you can fall back on.
No issue here on my i7-5960X as well.
So much for other forum members say that you do not need to set the Bios back to the Defaults before update to a new Bios.
Glad that F12 Key Works
