Yes, they are the same. Clearly ek has made a mistake. #1 Why would you need to purchase a block for a card that already has a block, and #2 the SC2 isn't reference design as the SC2 includes 9 additional thermal sensors, and a safety fuse which the sc black edition doesn't have.

That's exactly what I was thinking in the first place. But an opinion of a more expert person never hurts I guess. Now I know 100% that in a month or so I'll have in my hands the 1080 Ti SC Black Edition Gaming. Thank you so much again for clearifying my doubts.

Waiting for my chance to buy a 1080 Ti FTW 3 Hybrid keep missing the alerts on my dam I-phone for when their in stock missed two this last week. Im keeping my phone open so I don't miss my next chance all I need is the GPU to complete my build (I8600k, Cryorig R1 CPU cooler, Team Force Nighthawk RGB 2X8 3200 MHz ram, Z370 Asus Rog Strix E-gaming MB, Samsung M2 NVME 500 Gb, Barracuda 4tB 7200 128mhz HDD, EVGA Supernova 750watt,  Cooler master Haf-X case, RGB fans, RGB  RM780 Gaming keyboard Blue. Please EVGA don't make me waite any longer.....

With the warranty of evga one would be unwise to buy from any other manufacturer!

I hear of recent horror stories on other forums of many months of waiting for rma's from gigabyte and Asus and pny.. So good luck anywhere else!

I will only buy EVGA cards. That being said, I have this awesome rig ready to bring to life but its missing a 1080!
