I always thought it stood for 'Extreme Video Graphics Array'.  Of course..., these days...., my memory is getting so bad that the only birthday other than mine and my wife's that I can remember is my brother's..., and that's because we're twins!  My wife's birthday is on Valentines day which makes that easy to remember.
