How long will it take to receive the thermal pads? I live in the UK. Thanks in advance

Is there a chance you could tell us what the new fan curve is? I generally set my own and it seems simpler to just edit the fan profile I'm using atm than it is to update the BIOS.

One would think that new BIOS is just to make sure everyone is getting his card cooled properly without having to mess with fan curves.

If I understan well, this is just a way to force people to use a more agressive fan curve...
If you do your own curve with lower temperature it will be the same apparently.

You don't need to update your vbios if you're already running the aggressive fan curve, however, you may want to update the vbios anyways to fix the card for the next user of your card if you ever sale it.

Thanks for the answer guys, i've been using aggressive fan curve since day 1 so i just wanted to know if it could have improved even further but i guess it doesn't hurt to update it anyway.

I also requested the thermal pad, I never opened a GPU before but the PDF tutorial seems to explain well enough for me to give it a try.

Hello, i am from Greece, should i pay shipment for that "FREE" EVGA Thermal Pads? Or they just send them to me and i will get them totally "FREE"???

The thermal pads are free. No shipping cost for the pads.

Will the cross ship RMA cards also have the thermal pads installed?

I would guess if i installed an ek water block on my EVGA I won't need this right? The ek already provides those thermal pads upon install. Well, only the front ones, should I still install the backplate wide one too?

Should create a new ACX 4.0 model because after all this, our VGA will depreciate in the resale market.

I haven't received a shipping date for my replacement GPU, does that mean the incoming replacement card will already have the VBIOS update applied? Hence after 11/1/2016. How will I know the GPU already have the applied VBIOS?

Spoke to one of the support on the phone and they said there will never be thermal pads installed on the newer/replaced cards. Of course I felt that there are some form of miscommunications between CS and the management so take what I typed with a grain of salt.

I'm ready to break apart my GPU the first time, albeit one of the more expensive GPU on the market, to install the thermal pads. Nothing could go wrong right?

If you have an EK block then you should get the EK backplate, Those ship with thermal pads that contact the back of the GPU die and back of VRMs. I also put in for thermal pads anyways and I have the EK block on mine. I plan to have them installed along with the vbios update should I decide to sell the card in an upgrade later. Don't want to pass on issues to the new user.

Definitely thought the default fan curve was on the conservative side...especially how new GPU boost is affected by temps now.

25% fan @ idle up to 50C.
70% fan for 50C and beyond(gaming mode). That's brisk baby
