Just a question, does this BIOS update makes any sense if i'm already using aggressive fan curve with Precision X or will it improve the temps even further?

If I understan well, this is just a way to force people to use a more agressive fan curve...
If you do your own curve with lower temperature it will be the same apparently.

Any customer who is not comfortable performing the recommended VBIOS update, may request a warranty cross-shipment* to exchange the product to EVGA for an updated replacement.

Since being from New Zealand i'm not in the listed countries for advanced RMA  i presume i have to first send in my gpu and wait for a new one to be sent back to me?
I will say if that is the case this will be my last evga product sadly.

You don't need to update your vbios if you're already running the aggressive fan curve, however, you may want to update the vbios anyways to fix the card for the next user of your card if you ever sale it.

Jacob... According to the analysis of a technician in my country, in 1070 GTX does not have protection against short circuit and power surges, proceeds this information? Can you show me a picture where this protection?

What do you mean? Only PSUs have safeguards agains shorts and power surges/fluctuations. There are some motherboards that also have surge safeguards, but the PSU usually deals with it first.

One would think that new BIOS is just to make sure everyone is getting his card cooled properly without having to mess with fan curves.

I have sent email to EVGA and my question was directed to Jacob, i need official support answer me before entering into discussion with a user.

Just change the fan curve...

Changing the fan curve will not also add thermal pads....
I'm already going to end up with a louder product then was reviewed and promoted i accept that but i wont be doing all these changes myself.
This is why EVGA has offered the exchange policy.

Thank you EVGA for offering this update.  I will try using your thermal-pads and some new thermal compound on my GTX 1080 FTW.  Because I never overclocked my card and used the aggressive fan profile most of the time I hope I avoided overheating the VRM's.  Also thank you for including thermal compound along with the thermal-pads. :)
