Should those of us with Samsung RAM install this firmware update?

You should trade your samsung memory ftw to me immediately for my micron...j/k.

If you have a samsung memory 1070 you do not have to do anything with these files. I believe these files are for micron memory folks only.

Or not! I'll trade you my 2 970 ftw+'s plus 1070 sc micron for that 1070 ftw...
On a serious note, I noticed core voltage is ramped up to 1.081v compared to the previous 1.075v. Not a bad OC at all. From 8008 MHz to 8812 MHz.

This firmware update doesn't concern 1070 owners with Samsung vram, right?

I'd wait for EVGA_JacobF to chime in about that. Personally I don't see why not, but I may be wrong...Back up original .rom with nvflash 5.287 first.

You can install it, but this release is targeted mainly at Micron users.

so all the bios updates there have part numbers ending in KR as where my card ends in KB. Is this bios update intended for my card despite that or does that qualify as a non matching part number? Or is that a typo on the list?

Yes, KB and KR are the same.

Haven't flashed the updated bios yet but wanted to say Thank you to all of you, as I have passed the return period on my EVGA 1070 FTW and just completed my build to find flickering out of the box. I'm standing by soaking all this knowledge in. Thank you again.

I installed the new bios but I wanna be sure everything went as it should have gone.
The first thing I did was put my GPU (08G-P4-6276-KR) in slave mode, aka second bios.

Then I installed the new (secondary bios). I ran the exe file and pressed y. Everything went very quick and only a brief second I could read the first sentence "install successful ...", I couldn't read the rest though because the cmd window closed automatic. Then I restaredbut had to press power button. Screen wasn't going to native so I DDU and removed all drivers and reinstalled the latest.

I resarted again, this time everything went fine. GPU Z says im on 86.04.50.01.70 and Nvidia control panel as swell.

Don't think everything went as it supposed to but am I good?

Yup, you are good.

No difference in vRAM overclockability here. Still hanging / artifacting / crashing under the +400 mark
