Most of the time it works normal but I leave my computer on normally 24/7 & have noticed 3 or 4 times now it has randomly got stuck on the boost clock & does not down clock, making the card almost hit 90C.

I'm worried sometime I'll be pushing the card hard, this will randomly happen & kill the card. I think it might be a bug within EVGA precision X OC v6.0.4 itself. I always left EVGA precision X open in the background with my GTX 670 & never had a issue like this before.

Here is a video of it while stuck, default settings.

Edit: Also to fix it, I drag the power target down to the min setting, press apply, then hit default & it starts working normal again.

Here is a video after doing that.

Changing priority to temp target should fix that.

thanks didn't notice that could switch, I'll see what happens now. Though on default settings why does it work fine at first but after a while randomly start ignoring the temp target.

Also my case has good airflow, it's just the heatsink on the non-SC version of the EVGA GTX 1060 is really small.

I just bought a bigger heatsink off ebay from a Zotac GTX 970, it looks like it should fit fine, so hopefully that will help keep it away from the temp target to start with.

I have reported this TWICE to them in the Precision forum. In the previous version the bug existed and it followed with this newest version as well. Crickets and they wont respond. It needs to be fixed and I don't know why they are ignoring it.

I was using a pretty old version with my GTX 670, I never updated it because it worked perfect as it was, of course I had to update to X OC to use the GTX 1060.

Buggy precision x is my guess.

Just did it again, while on temp target priority... The fan sounded like it was running really high so I looked & it was in the high 80s again, boosted way up ignoring the temp target.

Precision x is most likely the issue. Get rid of precision x and use msi afterburner v4.3.0 beta 4 instead.
