Hey, everyone.
I have EVGA GTX 970 SSC and was planning to purchase GTX 1070 but price was way above my budget so I could not afford that. Now, since GTX 1060 is out with more reasonable price and better performance, do you think purchasing GTX 1060 is worth to spend to enhance my gaming experience?(I have 1080p monitor right now but planning to switch to 1440p monitor soon).
Thanks.

No. The 970 still holds up to the 1060. The extra slight increase is not worth it. You would need to move on up to a 1070 to notice a difference.

I guess personally i wouldn't spend the money for the relatively small performance gain over a 970 sSC - that's still a very good card, and 1060 won't be a game changer.

Non SC: http://www.evga.com/produ...6G-P4-6161-KR_XL_7.jpg

You can see there is a clear difference in the heatsink being used. The SC has dense perpendicular fins, the non SC has got a simple circular radial design.

The benchmarks I'm seeing put the GTX 1060 within a couple of frames of the 980. Sometimes above sometimes below, but definitely always faster than the 970.

the $249 version is non SC. The $259 version ( after mail in rebate) is SC single fan.
