OMG!!!!EK_Luc
Hi everyone!
I have a bad news for some of you. We previously had the 04G-P4-3975 970 SSC and the 04G-P4-3978 FTW+ as compatible GPU for the 970ACX Waterblock but with the detailed pictures of ericleeee30 we have to announce that those 2 GPU won't be compatible.
When we created the block, we weren't able to have detailed images of those new PCB from EVGA and our first visual information of them were from reviews of the card from JayzTwoCents.
I'm really extremely sorry about this situation. We will update the CoolingConfigurator to remove those 2 models from the compatibility list.
Thanks
OMG!!!! Stepped up from GTX970 SC ACX 2.0 to SSC model based on the information you gave in cooling configurator. :( Very disappointed. You f****d up pretty bad....
My setup has waited the block like 3 months now and now there isn´t one :/
like I have said before lets not attack ek. they are a niche market and if evga would send them a dummy pcb these types of things would never happen.
let us also have a little patience and be appreciative that we have a person from ek so willing to be here and offer their support. I am sure that if you bought one of the old waterblocks ek would refund or replace that for you or maybe even put you at the front of the line for new waterblock if/when produced.
now we have bought cards from the number one producer of nvidia cards. evga is no longer producing the old ssc/ftw and I do not foresee any more pcb revision coming from evga on this gtx970. I would have to believe that the evga market is large enough that we will see a waterblock from ek. of course nothing can be said till they have officially modeled a waterblock but it should only be a matter of time.
If we did not have an ek rep here they would have not known about this issue and thank god they have found out before the old water blocks were produced and delivered. catching this fairly early will only help the community get the hardware that we want faster.
I also just wanted to add that for a company like ek the gtx970 must be a nightmare. there is no reference gtx970 and that means that every single gpu that they want to make a waterblock for they will have to thoroughly go look at each individual card and we know that the manufacturers are not telling ek when they make a pcb change (come on nice guy evga help ek out and send them a faulty pcb or something).
