Just went into step 2 and finished queue on step up for my SSC... Still deciding if I should wait for the FTW+ or not, there's not enough to decide, and if I cancel my queue now then Ill have to wait much longer :/

I also just went into step two.  I am pretty sure they just came back to work today and we were approved.  I started the step up on the 24th of december.  so now we have 2 days till they review our purchase receipt then another 7 days to pay them.  If the new ftw+ is not out by then I will just pay and accept my new card.  my step up ends on the 18th or so I will not wait and see if anything changes in that extra week I have.

I've got about a month left to step-up from my FTW to the FTW+, if such an offer will be made available. I'm not one who wants to spend time tweaking/OCing my video card. I just wanted the highest clocked, most stable card out of the box. So far, my FTW has performed well, but it couldn't hurt to upgrade to the + version, if possible.

According to what I saw from the cached web page on EVGA's European website the FTW+ had the same clock speed as the FTW. I guess it could've been placeholder, not too sure.

I was right at my computer when this news was releases and jumped right on and did some comparisons between the 2 new cards.  the below is what the website headline was

The new generation of EVGA GeForce GTX 970s have arrived with the SSC and FTW+. These enhanced models offer improved cooling, double BIOS support, new display output configuration and 6 power phases for robust overclocking support. The FTW+ model even has an included backplate.

now when we go to that link the info is not there anymore.  on the bottom right you see a drop down that shows the ssc edition but I swear when that page first launched it also on that drop down had the ftw+.  As I remember everything was exactly the same except for the back-plate and the extra 25MHZ or so.  it showed both having the same expanded voltage and power rate.

I really hope we can step up from our already bought ftw to a ftw+ (I bought mine 2 weeks ago -.-) I wouldn't mind to pay an additional 25 - 50 Bucks.

it seems the FTW+ will be cheaper than what we paid for the FTW. so why pay a difference for it?

the new SSC costs as much as the SC although newer and much better.

Where did you get this price info? New ftw+ is coming with a back plate so how could it be cheaper then the original?

1. the new SSC costs as much as the SC although newer and much better.
2. Jacob stated on Twitter, the FTW+ is going to have a very aggressive pricing.

even if not cheaper it would be about the same price imo, otherwise it won't be a choice against the SSC.
so if the new FTW+ costs more than SSC+Backplate (349.99$ + 19,99$), who should buy it and why?

for those like me who bought the FTW and a backplate it would be then a no brainer to just step-up to a SSC.
then put the backplate we already have on and that's it.
the price decides about the future of the FTW+, the right one will make it sell but a wrong one will make it collect dust compared to the SSC.

now it's real, the FFT+ is just a higher GPU clocked and backplated SSC.
