EVGA,

This mouse looks amazing and I can tell that real thought has been put into its design. My question, have you done anything about the hardware acceleration issues that plague the Avago 9800 laser sensor and other Avago sensors? If not, i fear a wonderful design from an amazing company will be sub-par at best. What are the chances of releasing the same mouse with a optical sensor like the Deathadder?

I have a hard time seeing the need for 8200DPI(open to any comments on this claim)... the sacrifices made on the current Avago 9800 and other Avago sensors is simply too great to warrant the lost of linear motion. I have tried upwards of 30 mice and all but a scant few have acceptable tracking(Deathaddder(really the best mouse but need more buttons!), Logtitech mx518(this does have issues in that angel snapping cannot be shutoff), there is one other but the name escapes me - the logitech 518x successor. Linear motion and decent precision(3200DPI kinda range) IMO is far more important for all applications i can think of.

I will be a buyer of 2-3 of these mice if the 9800 acceleration issues are resolved or a new sensor is used.

Best,
Mathieas

The 9800 sensor mouse accel issues have been solved through firmware (by Avago), it was up to the manufacturers of the mouses to implement them. My Corsair M65 exhibited the same behavior when it was first released, it was not until months after release and enough complaints on the Corsair forums that they finally investigated it and found that indeed there was a fix at the sensor firmware level. That update was released probably 3-4 months ago.

I hope EVGA is well aware of the issue you are speaking of and have already taken that into consideration.

Thank you for the information Srtie4k. Do you happen to have documentation showing they repaired this issue? I did a search but was unable to find it. I did however find a firmware fix for input lag which is a very different issue. My concerns for inherent Mouse acceleration remain :-/.

Here is the link showing the firmware update for input lag and not acceleration. http://forum.corsair.com/...howthread.php?t=120261

EVGA, would you be willing to make an official comment?

A optical sensor version has been confirmed in the official thread as well.

I have the M65 and it was utter crap with the wierd accel / lag issue. I bought a Logitech G400 because it was so bad. After at least a half a year of owning the mouse, Corsair finally patched the firmware. Now, the mouse is better than the G400. The mouse is very accurate now. The issue was fully resolved with the firmware release.

Yes, we are already using the version of the sensor that has the acceleration problem fixed.

We are also working on an optical version (a bit different body style though) This one will be released later.

I have high hopes for this mouse... However, something that has failed for me in the past was an ambidextrous design. They always fail because I hit the buttons with my little finger when I do not want to.

True! At least, please please release the optical version on carbon fiber. Thanks.

 How different and why?

I LOVE this mouse and i love the sensor choose as i actually love the extreme sensitivity optinion and run with my DPI at 8200 on a 1080p display and love it for how easy and natural it feels
